Anyone fancy a Star Wars double bill on Wed night ?
2100ish Vue @ Ocean Terminal are showing the last one (ep 7), then at 0001 on Thursday they are showing the new one (ep 8).
Not sure I'm actually going to go, but it is under consideration.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.

I would have loved to have gone - but my sis and bro in law are down wed - i tried to persuade them otherwise, as i've known about the double bill for a wee while.
still, i'm down for seeing the new one on saturday in IMAX 3D
fantstarwarstastic!!!!!!!!!!!
I didn't think TFA gained anything from IMAX/3D. It made everything look like wee plastic toys. The best viewing I attended was at the Cameo, where the audience involuntarily cheered when the garbage would do.
I'm a fan, but not *that* much of a fan, so I'm merely going to see The Last Jedi on Thursday evening ;)
hehehe :)
the worse thing is avoiding interwebby spoilers!
TFA i liked a lot, it had a few flaws , but as a "getting back to its roots" fantastical adventure it was pretty good - although i thought the First Order was basically "yeah we really want the Empire back in the movie but cannot call it that" -- and where do the First Order get all their funding for all these planet killer weapons!
I'm several films behind so would be up for it, but I am already socialising on Wed. I am fairly sure you will not be the only solo attendee though...
@unhurt was 'solo' an intentional Star Wars pun or was it just a multi-Leiaed coincidence?
Would I maul the language like that?
I hope not. It would be quite Jar-Jarring to see that on this forum.
Tempting, but would also mean I need to cycle up Kirk Brae late at night when it might be icy. Although it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be this morning, I still had to cling on tightly to the handlebars.

I consciously eVadered everything to do with TFA and Rogue One, because I wanted to go to the cinema to experience the films as fresh as possible. I have been doing similar for TLJ. I've not even been on Wikipedia, except to remind myself who Snoke was and why Ren wears a mask.
The thing is, TFA and Rogue One have become confused and somewhat intertwined in my memory. I remember more of TFA, but I enjoyed the spectacle of Rogue One more. I think it maybe didn't help that TFA came out first.
I fear I would fall asleep if I went to the cinema for 9pm and was still watching at 2am. I'll go to The Dominion in due course; Ocean Terminal is way too far for 2am!
The Cameo is doing a minute-past-midnight show, too.
nobody mention Rogue One, its was .................shudder..............horrible.
The foyer at Cineworld is very busy. There are a number of officially costumed people including a surprisingly convincing Chewie and various Stormtroopers. I'm here to see Stronger before it is bumped by The Last Jedi. I'm not looking forward to walking home.
I passed crowds leaving the Morrison Street Odium and the Omni, so I presume I escaped with a relatively short advert/trailer reel.
*shuffles in seat at star wars excitement*
hey, isnt there some sort of "serious" star wars group in Edinburgh, legion 49 or something like that - where its like really detailed custom made costumes etc...
ahaaaa Outpost 42 of the 501st Legion
(thankyou google)....hmmmmmm looks interesting....
Ah, so maybe not as official dressing up as I'd assumed but still well planned by the looks and sound of it. Ex-councillor Andrew Burns is sat a few seats over from me as we await the start of The Last Jedi.
@jdanielp - hope it was good - share no spoilers please i'm seeing it tomorrow.
watched TFA last night to get me in the mood
"the garbage will do...."
No spoilers.
Oh no no no no no......

We're watching it at the moment and well, I'm on the internet now.
My new order....top to bottom
Empire
New hope
Rotj
Tfa
Rogueone
Last jedi
The three that cannot be mentioned....
Mine would be:
RofJ
TESB
RO
ANH
TFA
RofS
TLJ
TPM
AotC
Although I need to watch TLJ again to be sure.
Mine are:-
The proper three
The Force Awakens
The other three
Rogue One
I haven't seen The Last Jedi yet but given how much people raved about Rogue One I am keeping my excitement down to pre-Revenge of the Sith levels, just in case.
The third one of the proper three is less strong, little furby things at the end no.
My seventeen year old rates the last Jedi as better than TFA as it is not just a rerun of the first ever film but with older and younger selves.
I am informed the female species with the big tangerine head is in TLJ. She is great.
I will ask him to do a rating as fairly likely to be an effect caused by what age you were when you first saw a particular movie, though the bad three will be 7.8.9.
This can't be worse than the force awakens surely?
@Min - RO last ?
i thought it was pretty good. Certainly better than the other three.
just far too many "make it a hero scene" scenes each one having to better than the next....reminded me of a Marvel movie
From a 17 year old child of Gembo
9. Attack of the clones
8. The phantom Menace
7. Revenge of Sith
None of these are acceptable to him but the next six are
6. Force Awakens ( he objects to it being a direct copy of the force awakens)
5. Return of the Jedi
4. Rogue one
3. The last Jedi
2. A new hope
1. Empire strikes back. By almost all a punts the best Star Wars movie?
