Message from the chairperson of a small group called Cycle Carlisle in Cumbria. Does anyone recognise this kind of surface?
“I am asking if you are able to help with the picture above . This is about a 150 metre stretch of Cycleway called the Caldew Cycleway. Laid early 90s by sustrans funding , but as per usual unadopted by our local council both city and Counties.
Would any of your members, committee etc be able to give us an idea as to what is causing this bubbling on this stretch only.
To the right is a railway line - active and to the left large fields approx 1000 yards to a river the Caldew.
Any help , guidance would be helpful + anything on getting councils to adopt pathways or technical stuff we could use say to change their policies ."
