    I have a train to see the Terracotta Warrior dudes in Liverpool that morning @ 1052. I do not think I have (or will ever have, or even if there exists) enough brownie points to get away with meeting Mrs & MiniMcR at the Waverley as I wander down from PY.

    It's my birthday (the day before) so I will be feeling very old and creaky. But suspect I'll be there.

    “feeling very old and creaky”, might have more to do with recovering from your current adventure!

    Super creaky. Still have plans to appear but in guise of bus user / slow pedestrian.

    Let someone know which bus and we'll come and get you.

    Laughing makes my back hurt so I'm trying to model moderate outrage at this insensitive suggestion instead.

    (... maybe if there was a cushion to lean against?)

    I'm not at work tomorrow which helps increase my chances of attending PY.

    Would it help if we all travelled by sack barrow?

    I bought one of the type posted by @iwrats when I had to shift some secondhand paving slabs into our allotment a few years ago. After heaving them into @recombodna's van in Liberton then heaving them out again at the bottom of Connaught Place all the sack barrow had to do was take them a short distance down the wee path beside the river then through into the plot, but it still couldn't cope and started shedding the circlips holding the wheels in place a few times every trip.

    @wingpig

    Are you suggesting that @unhurt is more or less wieldy than a stack of paving slabs?

    I can advise that I am pretty unwieldy at present.

    @urchaidh it IS my day off tomorrow...

    (Though this is my preferred Dr Lecter.)

    On the early shift this morning. Possibly the too-early shift.

    Tried (for me) a new route from Liberton Road into town, namely Mayfield Road and Causewayside. Absolute rubbish. Will be back on the A701 next time.

    There is indeed room for Quality Bike Improvement. The southside is a wasteland.
