    Cammo Fields and West Craigs are in the LDP but the fields between them were omitted for reasons I'm not familiar with. I have always assumed they would be developed later (ie after the main two sites) however it appears that some developers have decided to chance their arm and apply for permission to develop it sooner rather than later.

    They don't appear to have done a mail drop round the doors so it's only by chance that I saw a facebook link to this article: https://nen.press/2018/11/25/another-major-development-planned-for-barnton-maybury/

    “The developers are therefore holding a public information event from 2pm -7pm on Monday 3 December at the Marriott Hotel at the Maybury."

    The planning appeal for the land adjacent to the roundabout was rejected a year or so ago. However that isn't the land where the bridge will be.

    The twitter thread from last year doesn't really give much details just a link to the planning application but as far as I'm aware Network Rail are still playing funny on this and blocking any quick process to build it.

    Not excusing NRS in any way, but they are currently in the process of adding overhead electrification.

    So either ‘too difficult to think about a bridge until the wires are in place’ or ‘ha ha, tough, too difficult/too late’

    Or??

    That's strange when I opened the thread yesterday on my desktop those later tweets didn't show (or I somehow missed them). Let's hope the outcome is as positive as he suggests.

    The electrification project was originally planning to remove Renwicks bridge a couple of years ago but last time I checked it's thankfully still there. It would be a travesty if NR were allowed to remove it before the new bridge is built.

    Network Rail had planned the removal of Renwicks Bridge for the Christmas shutdown last year. The shutdown was then cancelled by Transport Scotland, so for now the bridge remains, but NR is adamant that it will be removed regardless of the lack of a definitive timescale for any new footbridge closer to the Gateway Station.

    Removing any bridge that enables better multi-modal journey planning is extremely disappointing, but particularly one so central to the active travel aspirations for the development of West Edinburgh, as evidenced by the City Plan (Map 24).
