Looks like an S2L-X but I'd be guessing on the number of gears.

    My S2L-X is matt black.

I have a hat like that. Well, mine is red and blue and green and purple, and the pigtails are shorter, but otherwise just like that. :-)

Have a very merry Christmas, peeps!

    I'm actually getting Scalextric.

Digital version with four cars and two cross overs.

Anyway, he's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy.

Cool glad somethin got organised, now to just try and remember. It's unfortunately a school night for me so might be a few half heavies and bed.

Edit: oh and merry winter solstice all.

A whole lot of art going on! I'm impressed!

Actually I have noticed a lack of certain vehicles over this wintry spell.

      •folders (Brompton count down)
      •electric bikes
      •road club bikes
      •recumbents (!)
•Ferraris, Aston Martins etc - Gold Brothers fleet has been reduced to one big white Range Rover. Although I did see a Ferrari slithering from side to side up Victoria St on Thursday.
      •SmartCars
      •mini snowploughs
      •gritters

The pattern may change back as snow retreats.
Daughter and girl pal did a cross town tandem ride last night...
Hope everyone else is having fun.

Brompton count is down here but not because they handle badly on snow. The M6R with Marathon/Plus works fine on snow and the low bar makes it easy to dismount in a hurry if you need to. I'm using a Pashley because it's unimpressed by salt and grit.

I'm just back from Tesco where I lock it up in the foyer. An African security guard pulled me in so I'm thinking "Ohh what now...?" but he actually wanted to talk bikes. It seems he wants a Pashley because is just like the sensible bikes they have in his home country and he's unimpressed by the fully sussed MTBs people here use. He doesn't like the dirt from the road or the chain.

Hmmm, he didn't say exactly, he just said Africa.

It was Tesco in Coatbridge so perhaps he assumed the locals would not know that Africa is more than one country. When I lived in London I would sometimes just say I came from Glasgow. It was simpler than trying to explain about Ayr since Londoners had at least heard of Glasgow.

I took my old road bike out one day to pop down to TBC and pick up my Brooks. I got as far as Nicholson St when there was a lot of hissing and I ground to a halt. Flat. I desided to push on, on foot. When I got to TBC and went to fix it I found 6 individual punctures through the "resistant belt"! Fortuantely TBC had a blue Schwalbe in stock to get me home. Can you imagine the ignominy of going home with 1 black and 1 blue tyre?

how much I liked the poster

Glad you like. I wonder what the next occassion to celebrate in picture form is?

    January 8th.

It's the birthday of Elvis (and also David Bowie).

oooh sounds a lot like the spam fritter has got you, like the mighty sarlak, welcome to the bottom...

I didn't get any bike pressies but then I did get some cash from secret santa instead of the thing I acyually asked for because they couldn't get them online (or couldn't be bothered or thought they would get the wrong size) so I was seriously tempted by the tesco full sus disk brakes MTBs rather than blowing more than that fixing up my old hack bike... If I get two winters out of it I would be happy...
Will have a peek in a Tesco when get back from Ayr, not got boot space thanks to afore mentioned mountain of kid's presents plus shovel and sleeping bag winter kit in boot...
See youz aw at the Diggers on the 30th

Another thing the guy from Africa said was that he didn't understand people here going to the gym. He pointed at my bike and said "That's your gym.".

Couldn't agree more, but that's lost on so many people. My old flat mate used to drive to the gym. When I told her just to save her money and run the mile there and back she gave me a funny look like I was the weird one.

A 20 mile a day commute is a reasonable way to stay fit and fight the middle age spread. As mine is now only 10 miles [the commute not the middle age spread] I have had to start doing some running again and a swim fit class [which I like but it makes me deaf - water logged ears despite corkscrew earplugs and cap]. I am not a fan of the gym but everyone is different. Almost every gym has a car park.
