    All hail CCE!

    As some of you may know I got to finding the constraints of the forum text box a bit strict and produced a ride report that a reputable publisher thought - in a moment of weakness - stacked up into an actual book;

    https://saraband.net/sb-title/overlander/

    We'll be holding a launch event in conjunction with Lighthouse Bookshop and the Bike Station at the latter's retail unit in Causewayside at 19h00 on the 28th of March.

    Certain selected patrons of the forum have received invites already - but I'd be delighted if any of the posters or browsers were interested in coming along. Lighthouse have set up an Eventbrite for tickets at the modest cost of £3 plus booking fee which gets you a glass of wine and is redeemable against the purchase of the book;

    https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/overlander-coast-to-coast-on-a-bike-with-alan-brown-tickets-57147401416

    I'm really excited about the whole project and I'd love to share that excitement with as many of the community here as possible.

    My Lanark paperback is a bit tatty, but I can certainly bring it along. Surely there'll be enough high quality literature about the Scottish psyche there already though?

    The greenest option, no doubt. Can't sign it for you mind - my digital certificate expired.

    @Frenchy

    My copy is yellowed and dilapidated. I may bring it as a talisman. The Scottish psyche must feature: does, tragically and triumphantly, feature.

    Lighthouse will be on cash duty, can't see them spurning legal tender.

    I bought a ticket that included a copy of the book. Will this come with a poem dedication or pithy phrase?

    Personally I want "Keep on trucking" plus a signature.

    Mate I don't know I'm new to this. I'm hoping for a sit down at a wee table and bit of 'And who should I make this out to?' chat.

    There's a blowtorch in the workshop so you could bring the bripe and some grappa and we'll get mad on cafe alpino?

    It's a deal. Almost cracked out the bripe yesterday. Was a tiring one.

    Artemis. RT to her friends. I surely hope so. I shall request it.

    @ARobComp is taking his Bripe so you have to brew up on that chimney full of twigs affair?

    Eventbrite tells me "You're going to Overlander: Coast to Coast on a bike with Alan Brown." despite the fact that I was intending to walk to the Bike Station.

    You maybe clicked on the pre-event ride leaving from Bernera Barracks on the 23rd? Combination of Wade roads, estate tracks and the M9.

    Great news that you are coming along.

    @IWRATS what are the chances of getting the book signed a bit before 7pm? I regret it very much but I won't be able to stay at the event as I will have to head off for my music practice (we have a gig the following day).

    @IWRATS my mistake. I'm not sure I can justify taking nearly a week off work at relatively short notice, but I'll certainly look forward to attending the book launch.

    I have registered to attend. I'll need to work out a couple of logistical challenges but otherwise I hope someone will drink my glass of wine.

    I'll make sure I do so. Were you in the bike station on Saturday while I was rummaging through the trailgator bits?

    No, afraid not. Hope the rummaging went well - the stock of weird bits is getting back to pre-fire levels.
