Extinction Rebellion Mass Ride
Tue, 16 April 2019
14:00 – 15:00 BST
We are facing an unprecedented global emergency. In the face of the ongoing Climate Crisis and Ecological Collapse our governments have failed to protect us. To survive, it’s going to take everything we’ve got.
So, during the International Week of Rebellion, Extinction Rebellion Scotland invite cyclists from across Scotland to join others in solidarity for a critical mass type bike ride in our capital city of Edinburgh. This is an action for any competent rider, no matter your physical ability. If you’re on two, three or even 4 wheels and pedal powered you will be welcomed.
Exact route details will be announced nearer the time, but briefings will start at 2 pm, and the ride will end at 3 pm, on North Bridge, where Extinction Rebellion Scotland will be organising a roadblock where all riders will be welcomed and free to join in.
Please register for a free 'ticket' so we can plan effectively for numbers and keep in touch with you regarding routes and timings.
Please wear bright colours and Extinction Rebellion signs and flags are encouraged. We also advise all riders to wear a bike helmet. This is a family friendly event children and young people who are confident cyclists are welcome to join, however they must remain under the supervision and responsibility of their parents or carers.
We will be pedalling for all life that we hold dear on this planet and to call for our Governments to act now and tell the truth about the global emergency and act as if the truth is real.
