Possibly 26th.
Forward planning encouraged.
Especially if you’ve never made a PY/NotPY.
Propose a different day of the week and/or non-central location.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.
Possibly 26th.

Given the rising number of extreme rugged types riding to and from the capital and the fact I've just lent Unhurt my camping caffetiere (coffee squasher) maybe a picnic type thing would be nice?
What exactly do you do at PY's? "The same thing we do every night, Pinkie" ?
Sheeptoucher - a quote from Pinkie and the Brain, you are clearly a person of taste and discretion.
The outdoor NotPY option is normally the Counter on the Canal.
I see from this that Illustrious Leader already discussed July
barge cafe - note opens 8am if nice?
Pinkie and the Brain great ‘Toon
Decisions, decisions...
Weather set fair?
32 degrees Celsius in Cambs Tues, 33 Wed
What day and where? I can, after 2 years now ride in on any day of the week and would love to catch up.
Dave C
Friday this week barge at lift bridge if weather fair??
och aye
"We" did once do a breakfast on Arthurs Seat, WC organised it. It was so foggy I only found WC and Wingpig by following tyre marks in the grass.
I plan to pop by. The lift bridge may even be open by then given that it appears to be all but finished, although I incorrectly predicted this a few weeks ago and was wrong.
Bridge was open temporarily last \Monday, ie not yesterday but the previous monday
@gembo I was away. Any obvious reason why it didn't stay open?
Thanks, see you Fri morning for coffee!
Bridge was open this evening. I'll pop along on Friday.
Hurrah, I love an outdoor PY!
Bump. I will be along, to the barge, around 08:20, after a haircut.
Alas stuck down sarf, thought i would be back. Was at the Orchard in Grantchester this morning (lot of early openings down here) there is a cafe with a lot of rules
“there is a cafe with a lot of rules”
You’d better suggest they have one about ringing bells.
They have two about ringing bells well related to bell ringing
1. Park bike at racks
2. No noise, the garden is for meditation, daydreaming and quiet whispers
The one about children is classy, i paraphrase
Children are most welcome but not if they behave like children
It is next door to Mary ARCHER’S house. I saw her this morning well someone who looked very like her fairly sure it was her and after I bromptoned past her there was a waft of fragrant perfume
So, too many rules for a gembo sensibility?
Given the complete lack of rules elsewhere in cambridge (pedestrian zone or not pedestrian zone? Etc)
Tho meditation good
That cafe sounds worth a wee boycott. Discouraging kids from your cafe means you're discouraging parents / carers and they will be disproportionately women. A rude word would be here if it were allowed.
All cafes in cambridge have to have an angle to discourage tourists (very high prices is one way, Don Pasquale prefers arguing with them etc)
All rules in Cambridge are all routinely broken.
Child sitting atop the millionth cargo bike I have seen in four days ringing bell entire time we were there. Sonorous.
Rules more to prevent them being sued if a little blighter fell out the apple tree he or she was climibing against the rules.
A record turn out of people with bicycles at The Counter this morning, although more than half of them were from a rival cycling group. Speculation was that they were from Glasgow and were preparing to cycle back along the canal. We had control of the seats and tables in any case so all was well. I managed to be the lucky recipient of a tasty free hot chocolate courtesy of the collective CCE loyalty card, although I now feel that I owe Iain McR something.
