@nobrakes
Come on and jump. But to where?
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.
@nobrakes
Come on and jump. But to where?
I was expecting @Arellcat's to just be consecutive minor thirds.
I've mostly just ignored this thread, and am only now catching up with it.
CCE appears to have hidden talents!
@algo - surely you have something to add?
I confess composition was never my strong point, so will simply applaud!
Robert
A 'lockdown special' radio show from @shetlandic
https://www.mixcloud.com/tom-morton2/beatcroft-social-24-march-2020-lockdown-edition-1/
He maybe still lurks here? Well known (to Mr & Mrs LB) for his BeatCroft Social. His wife is a GP - Shetland residents not pleased with inadequate response to large number of cases on their islands.
You may need to register to hear this MixCloud . First broadcast on SixtyNorth from Lerwick. No ads just music and Tom's often amusing anecdotes.
So many samples to play on that app - still working through.. Defaults at Miramba on mine but can choose others. May need to investigate further.
@Arellcat - think I could hear a slice of Brandenburg on first one and something from the school of Anderson / Squire on another?
@wingpig
I sense lived experience.
@LaidBack
In your own time.
a slice of Brandenburg on first one and something from the school of Anderson / Squire on another?
Yes, and 'Yes'. :-)
Fanfare for the Common Home Worker
Edit: That wasn't meant to be a note-perfect rendition of John Cage's 'Four and a Half Minutes'. :-( It was ELP.
Very good. Perhaps the tempo should be reduced a bit?
Julius Eastman's Stay On It. Just let it loop for 25 minutes.

WRT Fanfare... Sometime around 1998 I was lying with my head poking out of the window looking out onto a peaceful night-time St Patrick Square, listening to the radio. The proper Copeland version was played, but then the mood spoiled by the ELP version following immediately afterwards.
@Arellcat - Mrs Roibeard did remark that it was eerily quiet this morning in the street...

@Cyclingmollie
Judged 'barely annoying' by Madame IWRATS after 14 of the 25 minutes.
@wingpig
Soothes my soul? Oddly.
NO SOOTHING. This is an age of tension and peril.

@wingpig, that's caught the mood nicely.
Mini-Chief's submission - do we have a kids competition?

A trifle bazaar...

I like mini-HankCheif's submission.
How do you have the patience to programme yours, Arellcat?
Not totally satisfactory:

@panyagua
You OK?
@HankChief
All welcome in the four categories. The kids are stepping up - keen to hear from you too?
@Arellcat
Remarkable. Tantamount to subversion.

Kids hanging off my elbows distracting me from finishing the end properly for now. Maths time for them, now, anyway.
What have I cultivated here?
Any more entries? Will judge Round One with speakers plugged in and amped up to 11 at the weekend.
Going for Kraftwerk-lite:

With no knowledge of whether the judging was completed or if IWRATS is currently waiting for the end of lockdown to replace his blown amp I present "An Overture to April Insomnia".
This piece was written in a completely different era to early entries so perhaps comparison is not entirely fair.
To be enjoyed at it's best this dramatic piece requires a couple of additional props which should also be delivered in the same perfectly square tempo. So without further ado here is the playing order.
Listen to the music 10 times while viewing the logo of your favourite news outlet, paying particular attention to the sound of heavy traffic in the 4th bar. Now scrape your nails down a blackboard while imagining a wealthy tax dodger moaning about how his polluting company is struggling despite his competitors appearing to be fine*. Play the piece 5 more times and finish off with the sound of gargling bleach a glass of whisky.
* If you prefer substitute this image for one of an equally wealthy tax dodger complaining that their precious but soon to be dead animals are not going to be dead quite soon enough to keep your salmon river well stocked.
Of course if you would rather just listen to the music here it is: https://musiclab.chromeexperiments.com/Song-Maker/song/4627874423242752
