What have you got against Leptospirosis?
Posted 4 years ago # -
I swam three times in the last ten days. I am very proud of myself.

Loch Ness? Any midge?
Posted 4 years ago # -
The midges don't tend to follow you out onto the water. So the MPS was removed just before immersion and reinstalled just afterwards.
Excellent geographical sleuthing but no cigar.

Tomorrow morning actually looks like it might be dry. Maybe the light in the sky will come out too? Any other planned attendance at the canal?

Oh that could be nice. If I can remember how to ride a bike.

Will try to get along

It is....dark.

It's not very appealing but as we are up we will make the effort!

Out of bed and heading over before I look at the weather.

@gembo you did well to get a cold these days
Posted 4 years ago # -
There are a lot of colds going round.
Which is worrying, because a cold is no more or less difficult to catch than C19...
Also, the UK rate of C19 infection is back to what it was when we first went into lockdown. WCGW?

@amir, Mrs Garto (my better half) is a school teacher. I am guessing she is the vector. I am still largely at home but was in craigmillar the other day.
There was no period of grace for colds when the schools went back. Day 1 they started. see also nits.
The level of Rhino Virus in the schools is higher I would guess than that of Covid-19 but most definitely Passed on in the same ways.

Agreed, my youngest displayed a cold 2 days after school went back, and I had it 2 days after that.

Should at least be possible to test for Rhino Virus by visual inspection.

We got a cold in our house almost as soon as the schools went back too. I assume that younger children at least are more likely to catch and pass on a cold than Covid-19.

@IWRATS does the patient have a horn?
Posted 4 years ago # -
Some good chat at the barge there. It was cold though.
Posted 4 years ago # -
how on earth can nits be spreading? the kids aren't sitting at tables etc.
Posted 4 years ago # -
Nits have their ways, in playgrounds and classrooms.

Getting near that time? Same Bat place, same Bat channel?
Posted 4 years ago # -
Aye
Posted 4 years ago # -
i was thinking that we could occupy 2-3 separate tables, outside. and avoid shouting too much. or does that stretch the guidelines too far?

Shall I bring walkie-talkies?

Is this the barge at Fountainbridge or actual PY (Soderberg on Middle Meadow Walk) that people are talking about? Barge worked well last time.
Posted 4 years ago # -
Absentmindedly thinking about the feasibility of a PY Midlothian splinter group that meets at The Hub at Bush.
