@gembo
We should still do that like Japanese soldiers emerging from the jungle.
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Yeah like a worm hole up Buteland , twinned with 1979
I am now learning you can buy a mobility scooter in a suitcase
Who won the intermediate sprint ..?
bennett.
Guardian coverage is quite droll.

Bennett cheaper than Sagan. I am regretting finally picking Peter. He might retire so I am not regretting it now. Flip flop
David Millar and Ned Boulting taking turns to read out the info about local caatles are really bad
Slim pickings in the highlights tonight but finish was a belter
Certain to be changes at the top of our league as neither of the top two had the winner
Tomorrow is pancake flat for 140km then a 35km climb in the last hour
Actually due to something I haven’t worked out, farboy sam having Bennett and paddy Irish and me having similar team has only resulted in me going down to third. Alaphilippe May deliver tomorrow he has Panache
Ah, Julian will be fired up tomorrow for sure
donkey abuse has fallen out of rotation
dogs are in trouble today
Stage good today though bad luck for a couple of my riders
Sadly also terrible things are happening to animals every day
great stage today, best so far
itv4 ending with "listening wind" from remain in light, nice touch
Yes David Byrne started before the end on the live stream which I liked. They fixed it by the highlights
Shame Sagan chain slipped and stuyvens boxed Alaphillippe in. But Van Aert is supreme.
Ooooooft
What, rest day, aw, cuh mon
its the lantern rouge for me and my hastily assembled bunch of french gc also rans
and summer's over, so the cycling white socks will be going back in the drawer soonish
@bax, don’t give up, the whole thing actually only kicks off tomorrow. Some of the cats above me only got sprinters.
One parisien champers drinking showcase, one time trial, and an awful lot of climbing.
Today’s winner somewhat proving my point.
Next year I am picking team all called variants of Nicholas
not giving up, gembo-san
black socks on for the giro
@bax San, the velo comp is a long haul granted
What colour Sox for the Vuelta?
So I am ahead of a leading eccentric and a small child? Take what you can get I suppose.
Still the numbers are not as bad as they might at first seem. Remember: to be beaten by IWARTS at any game is a .gpx file of the route to your own bathroom mirror.
i like to think that the standard has been unusually high this year
Pogacar is strongest rider
But Jumbo Visma is the strongest team.
They just have to figure a way to drop him
Good Luck (the alert will recall how this was how the Nazis caught poor Gordon Jackson)
I enjoyed the highlights of yesterday's stage which I got to watch because I made the tea after driving the long way home from Dunoon.
Am I wrong in thinking that the other riders were basically accusing Pogacar of doping on that stage? It sounded awfy like it.
Pogacar keeping up with the Jumbo Visma train somehow. They are all doping. the question is Legal doping or illegal doping?
My impression on the live feed was that the Jumbo sprinter Van Aert was incredible in dropping Bernal and Quintana on the last few km up Colombier
but, whatever eh
Jumbo Visma have been up front in their use of ketones (currently legal 'doping'), but whether there is more than that, I don't know.
When one team is that dominant (Sky/Ineos were the same), it does beg questions.
I remember the point where Greg Lemond moved backwards in 1991. The transformation of his rivals that year was something.
Lachlan Morton has the Everesting record - 29000 feet in 7.5 hours or so. Exact time and elevation in the article linked to the article @PaddyIrish posted.
Lachlan did it but there was a glitch in his measured height climbed so he did not get the record. So instead of moaning he waited a wee while then did it again. He also did an extra lap just in case.
He also won a LEJOG off-road race and came 4th in a first attempt at the Yorkshire 3 Peaks (normally it takes multiple attempts to learn the nuances of the course).
Some rider- like his sense of adventure
I've seen a few videos of him doing alternative races he seems to be quite up for anything.
He has now lost the record to Bertie Contador by 2 mins - love Bertie but he has a somewhat tarnished reputation
