Landa out. Sivakov (in my team) possibly out too.
Posted 3 years ago # -
yep, Sivakov abandoned. I had him too.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Both looked nasty, shame, Landa looked good yesterday.
Posted 3 years ago # -
can't find any updates on them
Posted 3 years ago # -
Landa fractured collarbone, broken ribs and maybe wrist
The team say he is ok and keen to get back on bike

Annoyed that there were no breakaway points dished out today. The peleton was together at the mid-point.

My strategy of only picking climber# not working so far

Mader nearly fell off raising his hands on the line.

Pieter Serry hit by Bike Exchange car - driver has been booted off the race and DS fined 2 grand - justice system quick if lenient. Thankfully he made it to the end but has a very sore back.

Yes that was a bad one. TAken out by a team car. Only thing worse would be taken out by your own team car?
Things the pro cyclist has to watch out for, dogs, fan punching you (happened to Eddy), motorbikes, coppers, team cars

Not to mention bidons and bushes.

Gaviria beaten up, running on adrenaline if I understand the Welsh.

another sprinter has abandoned. I had been regretting not adding him to my team (almost did, then thought 'the giro doesn't usually have sprints....)

Very happy young Victor.
Posted 3 years ago # -
@srd, which sprinter, this is the spoilers thread?
Posted 3 years ago # -
Caleb Ewan
(it still felt wrong before the end of the stage, even in the spoilers thread!).
Posted 3 years ago # -
Just saw this elsewhere. His points should be voided.
I know what you mean @SRD, I disguised the winner as the Victor which he was. Twice

What a bizarre ending. Disappear into a tunnel. No visuals, the time the peloton was behind the breakaway must have been wrong? Then they come out the tunnel and the last two km is on gravel.
Worthy winner busting his guts. Not even taking his hands off the bars at the end.
Another bad day for team Gembo.

Looks funny seeing them back on roads
Strade bianchi stage great yesterday

Yesterday was great. One of the podcasts had an interesting commentary about the Remco’s unhappiness on gravel. Apparently he’s only raced on it once before and he was rubbish them too.

Yates also doesn’t think gravel has a place. Makes it exciting for us.
Moaning puss Caleb Ewan curiously likes gravel. When he won the same stage ten years back it was also raining so lot of glaur.
Anyone coming in to road cycling from mountain biking will see gravel as a walk in the park.
Lot of gravel routes in West Lothian. Through forestry etc.
Almeida could not help Remco on the descents but came back eventually, affecting my team as I have him and he looked strong. By this t8me Remco had lost his shizzle. Loved his demonstrable ripping out of the radio ear piece. Then subtly putting it back when no one looking.

Nizzolo!! There was me wondering why I had picked him.

Lot of happiness from locals.
Given I am watching it in Welsh I thought the jumbo Visma star sprinter who is on my team had gone very very early and just got pipped but on further scrutiny the jumbo Visma lead out man went for the win and the star sprinter did not go with him but limped home tenth

Edoardo Affini second. Good points for someone from their time trialer.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Yes he is Dylan’s lead out so where was Dylan?
Posted 3 years ago # -
10th. Couldn't hold the wheel I presume but he has been out of racing for 9 months.
Posted 3 years ago # -
Same as Remco and Egan. But they ain’t in my time. Just the guy I picked not showing up
Posted 3 years ago # -
Monte Zoncolan tomorrow. Should be a good watch.
Posted 3 years ago # -
They are going up the easy side then
