Now that outdoor seated events are allowed again (max 500 people) or alternately 8 from 8 households can meet outdoors, I might turn up for outdoor coffee next Friday on middle meadow walk if anyone's willing to risk it?

@hankchief, I think your keenness to get out and meet people has over ridden your reading of the date contained in the title of this thread which is next Friday, per chance

    Still a good practice run.

I have gone to PY the last Friday of December to find it Shut for the holidays. What sort of cockamamie. Organisation is that?

Last Friday of the month is usually the PY. Cue suggestion if it is sunny we go to the Barge instead.

Cue query, why do we call Sodaberg on MMw PY?

I bend to the will of the majority and indeed in some cases the minority

“I bend to the will of the majority and indeed in some cases the minority“

    But resist?

PY is a thing not a venue.

Of course you may point out that that’s not entirely true as alternative venue suggestions for “PY” (aka last Friday of the month meet up for CCEers) are described as Not PY.

PY - pee why - is somehow sonorous (as well as a convenient abbreviation), the primary venue changed its name in spite of (silent) protests from CCE.

    “S” wouldn’t cut it.

Of course using PY is mildly discriminatory as it confuses those unaware of Peter’s Yard and its emblazoned siren signs.

(The name exists in a parallel universe https://www.petersyard.com/whoweare/)

    Things change.

    Sometimes for the better.

    "Reassuringly Expensive" pastries ;-)

They do a good (if a little small) reassuringly expensive coffee too. Hope to make it along.

Looks like being dry and relatively mild... believe it when I see it! Soderberg on the meadows open from 7:30 according to their site.

I may swing past. If it’s a big crowd, I’ll just head to work rather than push the numbers up unacceptably.

Have meeting at 9 which normally fitted with PY but would need to leave as I got there to get back in time. Shame.

Super sunny right now! I'll try to be outside at 7:30 as I also have a longer than before journey back to the "office"

Up but tin8ngs ain’t gonna work, shame lovely looking day

Dave in the original PY there was an early shift and then a late shift when Illustrious Leader would turf up.

But over time the early shift moved on with their lives leaving just the late shift to fly the flag for cycling and over priced coffee
