CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any better, Alexei Sayle doing the commentary
Which mota has he got…
No need for a bell, his wheezing alerts the towpath
These films are what Ned Boulting saw and invited Alexei to commentate.
Bad crash with lot of them going quite far down the banking
Finish worth a watch.
Yes, I think the lead out man had to brake though to let the intended winner win
Suspect not quite.
But...
Podium interview different!
Eddy had 16 Time trial victories in his 34
That is all on him really isn’t it he only entered 9 tours? So nearly every time trial he entered?
I think the Manx Missile has been in 15 tours? Is that right?
Eddy could also win on gradients.
I am happy for Cav.I kind of don’t want him to go beyond the record equaling though.
He will
Paris or next year.
He may be perhaps getting over-sentimental about THE RACE, but no one seems to be complaining.
Green/Cav kinda overshadowing Yellow, but that’s Le Tour.
He might yes but some things to consider
He is only there as Sam.Bennet and Lefevre fell out.
He has an amazing lead out team
Caleb Ewan surely would have taken some of these stages?
So Cav could go for fairytale end to his career. He will be 37 next year? Better to go out on this high?
In other news, no sign of Tadger’s wee can of Fanta. He maybe only gets that if he wins a astage?
So you’re saying he has luck he doesn’t deserve?
No I am saying he got lucky and he deserves it
I suspect Cav uses fewer pharmaceuticals than Eddy did.
Eddy partial to a bit of Whizz for sure
That’s Édouard Louis Joseph, Baron Merckx to you.
Cav looking tired but if he gets through the Pyrenees he has one more flat stage and then the Champs Elysee …….Eddy is working all his contacts to stop him but it ain’t workin.
To be fair, Cavendish has been very humble about the whole thing and always mentions the team effort. He appears to be just happy to be racing in Le Tour at all. His main lead out man was very respectful and generous in his praise. Yes fairytale ending engineered by an excellent team, but t's all good as far as I'm concerned. I might add there appears to be a great deal of respect among other riders for Cavendish's achievement, not least because of his five year battle with illness and depression. Nice to have something positive to celebrate.
Cav will win SPOTY if Italy beat England tomorrow night.?
Corking stage today.
“
It’s incredible. I am lost for words. I was really suffering in this Tour. I didn’t feel I had the spice in the legs. Today I knew we were finishing in the place where I live, and I am so happy. It was a hard day in the breakaway. I don’t know the climb so much from training because it’s really hard. It means a lot, I can’t believe I am in the Tour, much less winning a stage.
“
He had the spice.
The time gap between him and the ancient age defying miracle drug cheat? yo yo-Ed
I am watching the highlights even though I watched about two hours of it already today, fab stage. Plus the guy who won can climb up a glass windae.
Football did not come home.
Wrong thread…
Wrong thread
I didn't realise the spoilers had to be tdf specific. Is there a right thread for football on a cycling forum?
Now there’s the question…
There are certainly potential discussions comparing football and cycling as pro sports.
The role of teams and supporting star players, athletic ability/endurance etc.
Loads of pictures of beaten up cyclists who have crashed, just getting back on the bike compared to footballers writhing in agony who have nothing wrong with them. Raheem, England’s best player is also their best simulator. He did not take a penalty.
I have had to switch the Radio off.
The Italians aren’t that bothered about winning as their focus IsThe World Cup.
What I love about the Italians Is that when the High Press is not working then they can resort to arguing with the ref about VAR, simulation (world class) or fouling (exceptional)
I hoped England would win. Mancini made the correct adjustments at half time to get to penalties and England lost it from there.
To avoid the whole thing I went for a walk with Mrs Garto. Lovely evening. saw no one, except our pal Tom walking his English pointers Misty and Sula. My top tip for being at one with the universe is to go for a walk during big games at the Euro or World Cup. You get the hills to yourself.
