Hi I’m Monty! From 1-16 August I’m cycling with two others from Land’s End to John o’ Groats covering a distance of over 900 miles!

I’m raising money for the incredible Pilton Community Health Project (PCHP), a small, vibrant community-based charity in the heart of North Edinburgh where my Grandad grew up, just along the road from PCHP.

PCHP works with local people to tackle health inequalities, improve their own health and create a healthy community and environment. They have launched a Community Wellbeing Programme to respond even better to the emerging mental health and wellbeing needs of hundreds of families in North Edinburgh disproportionately and unfairly affected by the pandemic. PCHP has a small team of volunteers and staff providing community based mental health and wellbeing support, access to health affordable food and fighting food insecurity, welcome and support to new and settled immigrants, emotional and practical help in GP surgeries, a men's support project, and their long running women supporting women programme.

This new Community Wellbeing Programme is developing more local volunteering opportunities to strengthen and support each other while gaining skills, experience, a community listening project offering fully funded training, practical support to tackling digital inclusion through securing funds for devices and getting connected, and links with their Community Wellbeing Partner The Civil Service Strollers Football Club - a forward thinking local club taking steps to find more ways to support the mental health and wellbeing of their members, volunteers and families.

Please consider donating to help out PCHP and their great Community Wellbeing Programme!
