Somewhere on a 15 mile route between my house this morning, Cameron Toll, Scotland Street yard and Bruntsfield there's a lovely brand new Smart headlight lying in the grass/gutter/next to some bike stands. I did a recce this evening to no avail. To the bumbag who found it and kept it, thanks a bloody lot. I hope you looked into the beam to see how bright it is. >:-(

My GPS cradle has gone missing somewhere in my garage.

Then my optician said that he couldn't make my glasses prescription as strong as it ought to be, because my brain was too programmed to one-eye dominance and got confused when we tried full correction.

And my non-stick frying pan is most definitely notnon-stick these days, as I now have two protein-packin' fried eggs securely welded to the base.

Nevermind Arellcat, if you buy another one it will be the equivalent of full price... :-/

I've just realised that I must've lost my multitool at the same time as my light. *cries*

    What's next? My bike? :-(

I always figure i'd rather someone picked up the light and used it, as other likelihood is it getting run over by cars....but still very frustrating.

I've given up on non-stick and gone back to cast-iron entirely....except for fried eggs....

That should be your quota now...

Sorry to hear of light, multitool loss etc...

    Hope this week's better.

I have a jogger's clip-on light that goes nicely over jersey pocket or a bag strap that I found flashing on Argyle Place and rescued. I reckoned it was the right thing to do to save it from being squished by a car and make use of it as my back-up-back-up rear light.

I have an egg pan that I guarded jealously from flatmates in my student days as they all seemed to think that a metal fork was the best implement for stirring things in a non-stick pan.

I think now that one of us has found a light and has an egg pan that doesn't stick the universe is hopefully slightly more in harmony again?

I've lost three lights in the past few months, two on one day on the first Monday of Snowland, one of them on a journey-extension which turned out to have been unnecessary due to the people supposed to be present at the journey extension's apex not bothering to be in.

I found my original Topeak multitool last year a couple of days after buying a new (and slightly less multi-functional) Park to replace the one I had looked for everywhere and considered completely lost.

My recent knackered-zip bag which wasn't worth getting repaired for the quoted price and which I replaced via the bike shop sale was repaired despite a repair having been requested to not have been performed; although I'm "not required to pay anything for it, though half the quoted price would be nice" I've still paid for a new bag, albeit an improved shinymodel in a sale.

I lost my keys last week which means I'm now the proud owner of many unlockable bike locks (fortunately none of which are securing a bike in a dubious part of town).

I also mentioned at PY my missing orange Kryptonite...

Arellcat - lets replace that for you FOC. You seem to have been more than unlucky,
if you pop by today ask Adam to give you a new one, tell him i say its fine,

if tomorrow onwards then i will see you then.

You see TBC could sell cards for these occasions - as I was saying on the other 'get well soon' thread.

Sorry your saddle fell off. Get well soon.

What do you think? is there a market for this?

    Thanks. I had started with:

Sorry your brake cable snapped. Get well soon.

    Then we could personalise.

Sorry your Shimano brake cable snapped. Get well soon.

I think Alan Sugar might be interested

"SORRY you selected the largest chainring and largest sprocket SIMULTANEOUSLY"
Despite following manufacturer advice and removing a couple of links from my new chain so that a line drawn between the jockey wheels was perpindicular to the ground when on the largest at each end I'm still going to have to take a couple more (now significantly oilier and unclean) links off to stop the pulley rubbing against itself when on the third-smallest (or smaller) sprocket and smallest chainring.

That would explain the noise your bike was making as you passed me last night ;-)

  27. Sigh.

Possible cracked frame discovered last night, then arrive at work and find the tie I was going to wear today (you'll see why this is important in a mo) has a mark on it, then I sat down in my new troos, pocket catches on the arms and tears a hole in the side of them. On the day I have an interview at 1.

    Sigh.

Right, off out to buy a new pair of troos AND a tie (yes, the colour of tie is important with the shirt I'm wearing, and yes it has to come from a specific place - I have matching saddle and bar tape on both my road bikes, you expected anything different?)

    Posted 13 years ago #
  28. Hmmm. Jacket covers up the tear by about 2 inches. Do I risk it? I've not had an interview yet where the jacket came off...

Doh! Hope the interview goes well!

  30. The 'shaking hands motion' reveals the tear. Damn and blast. And it's tipping it down. Can I start this day again please?
