I declined due to personal attacks on named council staff on the FB page managed by "ACE". A secondary issue was the threats of illegal activity on the same page.

I'm happy to return to the Community Council anytime, and council staff will continue to attend each month.

Why people cycle in Edinburgh... not quite what I expected, but there must be huge potential to grow "to or from work".

The MuskRat stopped allowing anonymous users to view tweets at some point yesterday. So regrettably twitter links are for the moment useless unless logged in :(

But he admitted after watching the traffic for just a few minutes that there may be a problem here and that it would be possible for council officers to look again at the signage. He explained he had taken part in a two hour long Q&A with Corstorphine Community Council during which some had mentioned there was too much signage, others that there was too little, and these views have to be balanced.

It will either be there or through the meadows I’d guess.

That’s if they follow the West end to Dalkeith route.

    Haymarket-Morrison St-Lothian Rd-Brougham St-Meadows- old Dalkeith Rd- Cameron Toll-RIE-Sheriff Hall- Dalkeith

Is the route that was quoted to me recently.

The updated pedestrian crossing and new roundabout bypass on Redford Road in my Ward is starting to take shape.

I'm proud to be working with Gordon Brown & @cllrcammyday to bring this to Edinburgh.

When the Edinburgh hubs are fully operational, an estimated 10,000 items per week are likely to be available for distribution across the city – or circa 500,000 items per annum.

At last, after 5 years(?) the bridge at Redhall Weir in Colinton Dell re-opened today.

Of course, I had to be one of the first to use it! Whilst I was there I met local resident Hazel - she was so pleased she brought bunting!

Spotted the bridge was open the other day but no bunting, perhaps Hazel took it home. It looks good nevertheless

True: “Edinburgh’s excellent – and publicly-owned – transport company has been one of the main drivers of our city’s growth.”

Councillor Arthur added: “If there are issues with poor driver behaviour in the wider area I would be happy to work with the local community to resolve that.”

Looks like excessive volumes of traffic, overly wide turning angles, and a lack of level separation onto the continuous pavement from the road.

I have a feeling that 2023 will be Edinburgh's biggest ever summer for tourism - the changes below are designed to keep everyone safe, ensure city centre residents are supported, and to help employers make the most of it!

Councillor Scott Arthur, Labour councillor for Colinton and Fairmilehead, said:

“I’m delighted that the Scottish Government's reporter listened to local people and rejected this appeal. They correctly say it would have adversely affected the setting of the conservation area and have a negative impact on the amenity of the locality. I would like to congratulate everyone who opposed this development, they have now been vindicated twice. I hope the owner of the site will now work constructively with local residents to decide its future.

It was a privilege to meet the immensely talented Shona Kinloch today and see her place her pigeons on Elm Row again.

They were removed in 2006 for the original tram project, so it's right that we mark the completion of the line to Newhaven with their return!

“I understand that officers inspected the site in line with the council’s risk-based approach to repairing potholes, and decided that the defect did not need to be prioritised for repair. This suggests to me that the Transport Committee should reconsider the funding it has allocated to dealing with reactive repairs to allow defects like this to be repaired more quickly, I shall be discussing this issue with council officers.”

(Potential) bridge across WoL at Slateford

There is huge potential here to create a development which also connects communities.

That defect in Colinton is pretty small, so although you can see it on streetview going back over a decade I can understand why it wasn't prioritised. Weirdly though the council have found the money to resurface Spylaw Avenue, which is over 200m long yet has just six properties off it. Perhaps better prioritisation is the answer?

My brother in law ruined a tyre on his car driving over that pothole last year. It seems it may not be as benign as first appearances might suggest. (And yes, he did get compensation from the council - which means they knew about it back then.)

Councillor Scott Arthur, transport and environment convener, said: “We’re currently developing strategies for the management of flood risk within the context of climate change, in partnership with Scottish Water and SEPA, and Craigleith has been identified as a priority area. As part of this work, we are undertaking a flood study to better understand the cause of the flooding and explore possible alleviation measures which include the use of nature based solutions.

Transport Convener Cllr Scott Arthur said: “I’d like to thank those living along the route for their patience during the construction of this much needed convenient and sustainable transport link to the city centre and beyond, including the residents in this building. The project will reinstate steps leading into the building and a low-level wall which were removed during planned works. There is an industry wide shortage of materials and resources which has impacted the timescale of this work being carried out. The project is in the process of finalising a timetable for the work which will be communicated to residents via the property factor when it has been confirmed.”

We had a useful discussion today at the Transport and Environment Committee on why the Council needs more powers from the Scottish Government to cut congestion by forcing utility companies to work smarter and faster!

    Will they listen?

Should we boycott this on the basis that the councillors want it ripped out anyway?

Pretty sure that most councillors want the schemes kept and
enhanced. We even managed to get Cllr Neil Ross (Lib Dems, Morningside) to agree, at least verbally, to a "pro" crowd. (Whether he really does or not is another matter, since he has coluded in the past with the Tories to have the Greenbank-Meadows / Braid Rd schemes ripped out)

Only the Tories want it ripped out and will fully admit it.

    Obviously

‘We’ should just organise a full scale campaign with door to door leafleting to explain the real issues/benefit.

    But obviously

Apart from resources and logistics, WHY SHOULD WE EVEN BE HAVING TO THINK ABOUT IT??

Meanwhile, high level sanity here -
