Wire/rope/fishing line across paths is a worrying development :-/ Hope it doesn't catch on.
Although with the weight of my tourer I could fit a wire cutter and it would make no difference!
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

@Smudge - as you're a self-confessed inspector gadget I was thinking that the over-the-wheel loop bracket on your front tourer rack could be used to fit some sort of cow / small-dog / glass catcher. Perhaps instead it could take some sort of wire/cable cutters
Like the thing attached to the front of the bat-craft in Batman (1989 Burton/Keaton/Nicholson version) which scoops up the poison-blimps and takes them away before cutting their cables to release them?
I saw a pedestrian helping to kick a broken bottle off the Ferry Road path at the weekend, though he was mitigating his helpfulness by letting his dog run everywhere whilst he scraped.
Just received from Sustrans, a flyer with the following words:
VOLUNTEERS NEEDED!
Come and help clean your local cycle path…
to make it cleaner and safer for everyone…
(Did we mention there’s tea and cake?)
Drylaw Community Centre, 27th March from 9:30am
That's nae gid, we'll be in the depths of Moffatshire at that time!
In the first cafe?
In the sunshine having tea and scones outside, for sure!
it is however the day that the lady leaves with drudih from MMW I believe? Defo need a dustpan and brush on the stevenson path, nasty glass smash where the eco lighted path passes the underpass.
I would so love to do this but will be building summerhouse (again-for-the-last-time-possibly) out West... Also it appears to be on facebook run by a colleague at work...
