Well the first match of 2011 is nearly here.
This weekend 12 of the Falcons make the long trip to Norwich for a weekend of International and Club Cycle Speedway.
Saturday will see Scotland take on Ireland in Norwich as part of the Celtic Cup with three of the Falcons, Mikey Hewiston, Jake Slight and Craig Newsome, making up the core of the Scotland Team with the remaining numbers coming from the English based Scots. The International will be followed by a Scotland “select” taking on an Ireland “select” allowing those with the most tenuous of international connections to get in some much needed practice.
After what will no doubt be an early to bed Saturday night the Edinburgh Falcons then take on the local Norwich side on the Sunday in what will be the only pre-season friendly before the first Northern League fixture the following week at Redbraes.
A full report of the weekend activities will be issued next week.
And don’t forget that first match at Redbraes on 3rd April 2011 – tapes up at 2pm.
