Various posters have mentioned they have new or nearly new bits of cycling stuff that they'd happily pass on or perhaps swap or sell at a discount.

Perhaps it is time we had a thread to offer the stuff on? I guess the "rules" would be set your own price or whatever and if somebody wants something or has a question, conduct it by PM.

    Personally I have (for donation);

1 x Schwalbe Marathon plus, reasonably new, never punctured, 700x28c

2 x Michelin Lithion, used once or twice before replacement with something more colourful. 700x23c (I've got too many "new" black tyres off of bikes that will never see the road)

1 x unused Blackburn frame pump (designed to fit between traditional pump pegs) with Presta valve

1 x hardly used Topeak micro-pump with Schrader valve (no use to Mr Presta)

1 x set of traditional clip pedals, unused, leather tightening straps

1 x chain guard for single speed / hub-geared bike (covers top of chain and chainring). SKS I think in smoked translucent plastic

More will appear if anyone takes some of this stuff and I get deeper in the box of odds and ends

    Great thread idea!

    I have:
1 x 700x28c Schwalbe Marathon Plus tyre. Been used a bit but totally indestructible.

1 x Steel road bike frame. From an old Rayleigh racer. Probably not Reynolds quality. Would suit a SS/FG project for someone who has a stronger resolve and more competence than I (what on earth was I thinking???)

@kaputnik I need some traditional clip pedals. I can offer ...

1 x profile aero bars along the lines of these ones http://www.evanscycles.com/products/profile/airwing-aero-handlebar-ec005140

Probably more tat if i clean my garage out.

miggy_magic, you couldn't have found that frame last week before i bought one for my ss project.

I've not got such an extensive spares collection to offer up. Some part worn bits that might help some one. A 9spd chain 3/4 worn and a worn but not dead chain and cassette that should probably stay together.

@kaputnik those tyres would be great for my ss.

    Ok! This seems to be working so my list is now;

1 x Schwalbe Marathon plus, reasonably new, never punctured, 700x28c

1 x unused Blackburn frame pump (designed to fit between traditional pump pegs) with Presta valve

1 x chain guard for single speed / hub-geared bike (covers top of chain and chainring). SKS I think in smoked translucent plastic

2 x blue alloy bottle cages

sorry steveo! It's been sitting in my bedroom for months staring at me too.

I also have brand new bullhorn bars from the aforementioned aborted SS project, for a small fee.

I have two 700x25 Marathon Plus going free (currently called by recombodna?)

A pair of basic flat pedals, also free to a good home

A Dura Ace 1/8th lockring tool / chain whip (for fixed). Since this cost £30 and is effectively brand new, I'm trying to think of something I want to swap for it instead of giving it away... I also have two unused 28h mavic CXP33 rims (£40 a pop) that someone can have for a tenner.

Finally, I have a very nice, shiny, unused Dura Ace dual caliper front brake that I bought for my (stolen) fixed wheel. Cost about £100 new, but I'll take £35 since it's just lying in a box and we own no bikes with rim brakes any more :(

Before i end up buying a new one, does any one have a 700c rear wheel i've got pounds to swap, 20-30 of them. Its for a quick and dirty SS bike but two trips to the bike station and a week of trawling the usual spots and i've come up empty.

Hey this swap shop works! Thanks Kaputnic for the clandestine handlebar/pedal swap on Argyle place after dark. Nice to meet you.

Indeed it does, I've made good progress through my pile of bits. Noone seems to want Marathon Pluses though! Thanks for the swap - it's amazing how 1 new bit can set your mind thinking about a whole new bike to revolved around it!

Kaputnik - has the chainguard gone? I am hoping The Bike Chain will convert my Shimano Nexus 8 to a Sturmey Archer 3 spd. I have one yellow conti dust cap, not much of a swap but I know you like 'em. Some very old v-brakes, some very new v-brake pads (where the rubber bit slides in and out)

    has the chainguard gone

nope! I just can't seem to find where I've put it, must be in the loft or at my parents'. When/if I find it, you're welcome to it.

    Will trade for dustcap(s)

Kaputnik - I also have canti brake blocks that are mighty fine - not just a bit of rubber stuck on an aluminium tube, they have quite a bit of tooling involved in their manufacture and you need two sizes of hex to take them apart to replace the rubber. They don't fit my brakes so you are most welcome to them if you have a home for them or just to marvel at the effort they have gone in to for purposes of top trumping other manufacturers who just stick the rubber on the spike

If anyone has a couple of spare reducers for Ortlieb pannier mounts* I could use them (and trade beer/coffee!)

*Don't know the proper name, the little plastic clips that fit into the mounts to allow them to fit thinner rack tubing.

My old green frame is probably up for grabs if anyone needs it, small Trek early eighties MTB frame with rigid forks and mudguard/rack mounts in fetching BR Green. Made a good hybrid/tourer, but not as good as the Surly ;-))

Smudge, I've got some leftover Ortleib things (know exactly the bit you mean, don't know official name for it) from when I got my backrollers. Will fish them out and bring to next PY coffee morning. Yours if you want them.

Bit late here but does anyone have a 32hole 700c rim for sale/swap/gifting?

I'm running a tub on an old 105 rear wheel with mavic SUP rim and would like to get the hub rebuilt on to a clincher. - or swap for a clincher wheel that can take 8spd cassette?

I have the matching front 105 wheel to swap too as already got a clincher for the front end.

A tyre would also help me sort this, any offers greatfully received!

I had murder trying to get 700c wheel /rim used. The folks over at the ctc forum regard the rigida rims quite highly they are reasonably priced but i've yet to pick one up for my dynamo wheel.

Don't suppose anyone has anything in a 26" tyre that isn't knobbly that they no longer need?

@kaputnik: I have a pair of these with a little wear you are welcome to..

I've two or three used 25C or 28C Specialized Armadilloes without wheels to be on. Worn but not worn through, with some nicks in the outer rubber where they've successfully resisted Innocent glass, red winter grit flakes and Cramond's finest shell-particles. (First refusal to chdot who previously expressed interest.)

From Monday I ought to have a 1 1/8" threadless stem extender (black, and 100mm ish, at a guess) going spare.

Thanks, must have had a 'project' in mind which went in a different direction.

No current urgent need - so 'available'.

@wingpig The tyres could be really handy for my imminent single speed build. Not sure what I have to swap for them though, still need to sort through all the bits I've just moved to the garage...

@crowriver At least two usable 700*25Cs there, so PM when you want to arrange handover.

Also, lurking in my loft and unlikely to ever be used are two freewheel-compatible rear 700 wheels (each with a freewheel still attached). One's a twenty-odd-year-old sibling to the front wheel I'm still using as a spare consisting of miche hub (probably 130mm) and mavic rim; the other was an EBC cheapy replacement from the early 2000s (can't remember why a new wheel was needed). The newer freewheel has a giant 35ishT megarange largest sprocket. One has had a few spokes harvested for use as emergency spares elsewhere. Clickiness and rotatability of hubs and freewheel mechanism not yet assessed and spoke counts (optimal and current) not known. Could be used either as wheels or as spoke-replacement models and truing-practice targets.

Also now not doing anything much is a low-clearance front brake, possibly with two pad-cartridge holders if I can find one for each side which hasn't suffered a seized pad-retaining screw. Reach probably <=47mm. Six years old, shiny silver, Tektro.

Don't suppose any one would like a single speed conversion kit and chain tensioner for a tenner? The kit let you use a normal cassette hub for single speeding and the tensioner means you can use a frame with vertical drop outs. As long as your derailleur hanger is straight... don't ask how I know.
