Going to be discussed by Susan Calman ('don't know anything about it') Radio Scotland 10.30.

Does anyone know of a live feed which can be picked up on an Android phone? The official app doesn't seem to update during the stage. Failing that is anyone Tweeting a live report?

http://iphone.tvcatchup.com/?chan=10 is just a URL
Try it (I assume you have a web browser)
http://iphone.tvcatchup.com/?chan=10 might automatically default to http://android.tvcatchup.com/?chan=10
Highlights on now - also on ITV4 Freeview etc.

Thanks chdot but that doesn't work on my Android phone - some problem with Flash. I will try following @antmccrossan and @Cyclingnewsfeed on Twitter.

1.30pm: We're off! Alberto Contador's Saxo Bank team are the first off, on what is a cloudy and blustery day. Euskaltel will race 2nd, followed by Vacansoleil, with Team Sky 15th of the 22 teams. Each team incidentally, goes off at seven-minute intervals..."

UCI strikes again!
"
On Saturday commissaires controlling bikes before Sunday’s team time trial decided to check whether or not saddles were level (UCI rule 1.3.012 states that “the saddle support shall be horizontal”). This caught out almost every one of the 22 teams at this year’s Tour de France.

Good old UCI. If it wasn't for them I think sections of the TdF would be contested on recumbents, given that they are actually the fastest type of bicycle.

Enforcing rules is one thing. Devising pointless rules is another.
If the UCI really wants it to be about rider v rider, then it should specify identical bikes (possibly) with frame size variations.
Not that the enforcement was up to much -
"
when commissaires put a level on top of riders’ saddles the officials assumed that the measuring jig was sitting level. Several savvy mechanics brought their own levels and pointed out that the jig was not.

chdot: "Enforcing rules is one thing."
They're not even particularly good at that. Graeme Obree in The Flying Scotsman and Michael Hutchinson in The Hour both describe awful experiences of dealing with UCI officials prior to their record attempts.
The UCI's sudden changes in the rules are also a problem as you say. Last year thousands of pounds worth of carbon TT bars were hacksawn into compliance before the Nationals because of a change in the width to depth ruling. And there was the (subsequently dropped) attempt to introduce frame testing across the industry.
And arguably people shouldn't be booing Contador, they should be booing the UCI who have allowed such a stupid situation to occur in this year's Tour.

He's not actually disgraced. His national federation accepted his explanation and that's been passed on to the UCI to decide upon. Of course we all know that explanation is nonsense don't we? http://www.steroidsources.com/Steroid-Information/2011/02/meat-from-china-beefed-up-with-steroid-clenbuterol-wadas-concern/

Think one of my favourite sights so far is the absolutely awsome Skoda ad in the breaks:
...and I know it's a car ad and VW Group are one of the least green around. But it's still an awesome ad.
