Followers of cycling history will know that there are two key figures with that name.
Riders of Bromptons probably know about the one who created and developed that unlikely (in terms of the bicycle industry at the time) and now highly successful (and probably deserving of the term "iconic" - without the irony) bicycle/brand.
The other AR is also British by birth - born in Edinburgh in fact - but now lives on the west coast of the USA. He is a historian of the bicycle.
Last year people were given the chance to "Be Part of Cycling History for £25". The book has now been printed and will be available in the UK soon for £30 + £6 postage.
But don't look in your favourite bookshop. Initially there will only be 50 copies in the UK! Orders are being handled by the Veteran-Cycle Club.
