    Two events:

    A one day workshop exploring open mapping techniques.

    'The Electron Club', Centre for Contemporary Arts, 350 Sauchiehall Street, Glasgow G2 3JD, United Kingdom.

    A few things you can put on the open map to be seen all over the world:
    Community mapping projects, wild life places, community groups, activities, green space, sites of interest, local history, historical events, Common Good land, bike places, bike routs, paths, popular history, land and who owns it, planning, architecture, organisations, walks, free things, land marks, birth places, independent social centres - and much more.     Workshop - Highlighting Common Good land

    Interested in Open Data? Tired of Google Maps? Then our FREE workshop on Open Mapping is for you! During the day we'll introduce you to map-making with free software and open data.

    Featuring:
    - Editing and re-using OpenStreetmap
    - Getting started with the PostGIS geographic database
    - Interactive maps on the web with OpenLayers
    - Map styling tools

    As a sample dataset we'll be working with some data on common good land in Glasgow and Edinburgh. But you're encouraged to bring along your own data, problems and plans.

    A free lunch and refreshments will be provided.

    The event is being organised by DevCSI and Edina (Geospatial Engagement Community and Outreach - GECO)

    Love maps? Want to help make a free map of the world? Join the Scottish OpenStreetMap community to talk, workshop and hack for this two day event. We are being kindly hosted by the Electron Club at the Centre for Contemporary Arts in Glasgow. This will be an 'unconference' event, where all delegates can make suggestions for presentations or workshops and give lightening talks throughout the day(s).

    We hope to attract mappers, hackers, artists, journalists, cyclists, cartographers and any organisations interested in using OpenStreetMap.

    The facilities include the Electron Club room and Cinema room for presentations.

    Can't make the daytime? Join us in the CCA Terrace bar between 6-8pm on Friday and Saturday night for an friendly introduction/chat.
