If you have two-sided SPD pedals, you can get clip in plastic platforms with reflectors - to convert your pedals into dual use. I got this with the pedals on my commuter and have kept them on - they work fine. I have seen them for sale at the Cycle Promotions sale but not sure where else you can get them.

I know Shimano do kits to add reflectors to their pedals, but they're not standard on many (any?) of their clipless pedals - and I've never seen them stocked...

Robert, the part number is SM-PD22, and there's a Shimano instruction document for it showing how to install and remove them without inadvertently destroying them.

You can sometimes get them from places such as Rosebikes.

Bike cages at work (King's Buildings) have been blitzed with leaflets on the need for lights at night.
