Well, October drew to a close with 5 days of 21 involving moisture cycling to work in at least one direction.

As I got soaked riding in this morning (should have had a lie in - it's fine now!), I thought I'd stick up a post to record the fact, and edit it as November goes by to keep track.

2nd time this week when I've been eating breakfast listening to the downpour outside but 10 minutes later when I leave it has stopped.

Yep. Heard rain on the window when I woke up but by time I fell out of bed it had stopped.

  4. Put on the waterproof jacket - didn't get rained on.

There must be a Noah-esque downpour on the way sometime soon...

Tomorrow is meant to be pretty wet.

The mudbath I got earlier in the week from the roadworks along the Gyle made me admit defeat and get one of those deeply horrid crudcatchers. Worst 50p I've ever spent.

Had the full waterproof gimp suit on this morning, as when departing at 7.00am it was still fairly heavy rain. More rain on arrival in Dundee 8.40-ish. Fine this aft, stuck inside in overheated building...

I had a wet sandwich last night. Dry at start, wet from Cramond Brig to Dalmeny then dry the rest of the way home. Still the Altura Night Vision tights were good in the wet and didn't feel damp at all when I arrived home.

Embarrassed to admit I chucked it last night and caught the train. Wind seemed to have turned to the south (crosswind for my commute) and it was raining quite heavily. Plus I'd forgotten my Balaclava after it had got home damp the night before so wasn't in my pack! It gave me some entertaining Picardy Place traffic to deal with so that was a wee bonus.

Looking OK for tonight's homeward journey I think.

I was blown over the bridge last night. I approached the bridge expecting it to be closed but it was open. I found it very easy to cross and stopped cycling and had to use my brakes to keep within the 15MPH limit on the last 2/3 of the bridge. Thos coming towards me didn't look to be having a good time of it, heaving away in low gears and at a slow speed. Fortunate that at the time it wasn't raining. That would have been horrid, cycling into 20+ winds with rain too.

Looks like wind has dropped right off and skies are clear of rain?

It's not looking good for December to beat the November record...

Last day's commute of Dec so the final count is 9 (of 34). Urgh.

This morning was nice enough though, and so warm!

We've had a pretty good run so far in Jan but I did get wet yesterday morning. There were also 3 'experiences' at the start of the month when it was a bit manky.

Lovely warm very light rain this morning - I was almost loath to count it as a rain day, because I found it so pleasant - but by the time I got to work, while I didn't feel wet, somebody in lighter stuff would probably have felt it.

  21. I thought the rain was light this morning as well, until I started down Johnston Terrace. There's always a headwind there, and it was fairly driving tiny wee icy particles into my face. And of course I'd taken my beanie off on the climb up the Royal Mile.

Snowed on me quite heavily tonight out in the pentlands. But dave's dry stats sound right for me too

Hold on, by tonight do you mean last night (trying to count hours on my fingers!).

    Urgh!

April 2nd, and I'm wondering whether the sun will ever shine again!

  27. Water has clearly leaked into your brain, it's April 3rd! (unless you mean second ride of April?).

    2/2

was thinking that as I unlocked my bike this morning.

  29. This would be taking 'April Showers' to fairly daft extremes though... Last week summer was here!

Slightly damp again today (!) - that makes it 3 for April so far.

Foolishly wore my liner gloves only, when it turned to a slushstorm halfway in I was most upset!

Another half kilo down on the scales this morning mind you, which cheered me up a little.
