I'd love to but have to ride home afterwards. See you on the 11th March though.

Sorry guys, Tuesday has somewhat crept up on me. You'd have thought that Monday was fair warning, wouldn't you...?

I'll slip home this week to do the family thing.

I am still aiming to be there at 6.15pm, even though my drivetrain is distinctly clanky. I need the practice. Will do one or two laps.

Just me and ruggtomcat (on foot) tonight. I just went around the once. But it was lively and warm and the breeze was light. Lovely.

Also managed to sort out the clanking - the cassette had become a wee bit loose - a new one on me.

Thinking about partaking today, although the forecast sudden increase in windspeed and risk of rain is weighing heavy in my mind...

From the BBC/met office forecast, it looks as though there will be a breeze but that the rain may come in later. We will see!

Got there at 1825. Started up hill at 1835. Up the top saw 3 cyclists, but not anyone I knew. Very blowy and a bit scary on descent. The way home was very hard work as well.

'pologies - left work 20 mins late, which meant I was cutting it fine to get home and onto the bike in time, then saw a cyclist lurch sideways in a windgust on Dublin Street and decided to give it a miss.

Looks like we've got this wind for the rest of the week. :-(

  20. I might make next Tuesday. All depends, Mel gets her cast off on Thursday, so we'll see if she's back driving by then.

Mr and Mrs Met. Office are saying it's a mere 7mph wind, grumpy clouds but forecast dry, so count me in. I finish at 6pm so I rarely get to the barrier before 6.20, so I expect I'll be waiting there for the second lap.

Were we ships that passed in the night, 'Tom? And was that PS that I failed to recognise and didn't click until after I'd hasted him up the hill? Sorry if so.

Did three laps, which I reckon was sensible given it's the first time I've been up the hill in weeks, but on the other hand might have been wimpy since I'd opted for the low singlespeed rather than the high fixed.

@Uberuce We spoke briefly of toads before I headed up the hill... :) I should have identified myself.

I arrived after 6.30, so went for 3 laps then headed home. Nice night for it, but that hill feels a lot harder this early in the year.

The lack of wind at the top was lovely, yarp. No toads, but I did see a car driving up; very slowly and with the hazards flashing, but not as far as I could tell an emergency services vehicle. Did you see the taped off area and two police vans on the Pollock-Hollyrood curve? I'd guess they left after the light faded.

The northernmost police van was there this morning, so it might be there on permanent guard.
