I should have replaced the back tyre on my summer wheels as the tyre boot I'd left in there since last year worried a hole in the tube. Made a change to be fixing a puncture in the sunshine though and someone out for a first ride on their new recumbent stopped for a chat. As did two others when I had to stop to fix my second puncture. Luckily that was just before the hail shower came over.

I'll have to try and work out how old the Marathon+ on the front of the singlespeed must be. Its integrity has degenerated to the point where it felt necessary to let two wee spicules of glass through simultaneously this morning. After starting to hiss just before the red bridge I kept my weight to the rear and made it almost to Craigleith before having to walk. An inspection in the car park reveals lengthy perforated sections, despite the tread still being relatively unworn. I have too many spare tubes at home to not use them, so shall just walk home.
