Sorry - didn't make it after all. Wife suggested a few holes of golf after work so had to take the car in...

Maybe next time if not a Friday (she only works 4 days a week and is off then)

That was fun, although sorry to hear Mr Zazou's tale of his week of woe. Hoping it all gets sorted out for him.
A good range of topics to laugh about ranging from dog ownership to personal air fresheners...

@Spytfire: My abiding memory of this morning is the expression on Roibeard's face there. It said "you two are grown men, and you're sniggering like schoolboys at fart jokes?"

spytfire: Oh, I didn't hear Mr Zazou's tale of woe: Guess I was at the wrong end of the boat.

Still buzzing with caffeine. I've been able to make mistakes 10x quicker this morning!

@Uberuce - I'm way too transparent, and way too uptight...

    Grown? Physically maybe but mentally?
I prefer the term "Cunningly disguised as an adult"

I, on the other hand, will use the excuse that I need to keep one foot in the childish camp to maintain a professionally vital sense of empathy.

    Lovely morning.

Highlights included the lovely dog that was only roused from slumber by the interesting aroma of mildly sweaty cyclists. Discussions on the merits of various 4x4 vehicles and the best sort of HGV to drag-race against hot hatches. Steveo being concerned for the stability of his bike, despite reassurances that it was the boat that was rocking and not the bike.

The cycle-chic experiment was mildly successful, but relied on my not cycle-specific (unless you're the cycle-specific police) merino base layer for moisture control and definitely cycle-specific gilet to control for wind-chill factor. Oh and I also had cycle-specific gloves and cap. And shoes. And sunnys.

For those interested in the prescription sunnys, I used http://www.sportsshadesonline.com. It's a website store for an opticians in Merseyside. Got great service off them, they called me in response to an email query and the stuff was posted same day and arrived the next.

When I ordered them originally I required to send a copy of a prescription. I think this is required legally so that they aren't dispensing an incorrect prescription.
