While following the link about Motorcycle awareness i saw L&BP have got Edinburghs bicycle shops to agree to preregister all new bikes they sell.
It doesn't say whether this includes the UV marking etc that gets done when the Police register one you already have - but hopefully it will increase the chances of getting a stolen bike back!
