Nygnh. Mondays or Tuesdays are better for me for a diversion of that magnitude.

I'm out of the country until the 18th. :/

Zazou has its merits - intrinsic and geographical.
PY has different ones.
How about a mid-month, not Friday, PY meet too?
Some people might go to both, but different/new people could try one

Do you do meetings other than first thing in the morning? Because I usually get on a train at 7:40am so anything that I could fit in before that would be too early for sensible people... mind you, I suppose I could get a later train...

@wingpig - he only opens Thu-Sun sorry
@fimm - afternoon meetings could always be in a beer garden ;)Posted 12 years ago # -
In general, Thursday would suit me better because of the Friday schoolday squeeze on my morning job. Dunno if any of the parent-type forumites are in the same boat.
As it happens, my annual leave mismatch between my two jobs means I've got another week of half days due in April, so as soon as I remember which one I'll just tick that box.
This morning was a nightmare at work, though. I thought I was going to be out at 1pm, but between the detour to climb Kaimes Road twice(which I was rubbish at anyway) and some bad maths on my part, I was in there till 2! No-one on Earth has suffered like I have suffered.

are in the same boat
hurrhurr. very droll!

I hadn't realised fully that PoP is on a saturday.
I am nearly always ŵalking children to school thus will vote accordingly

Same boat? I see what I did there... By mistake, but dunnit anyway.

@ Uberuce: Friday is the one day of the week I'm almost sure to be let off the school run (which is not to say other stuff doesn't get in the way of coffee - it generally does!)

I see the 20th has nudged ahead. Unfortunately I cannot make that date as I will be in Rome - they are celebrating their 2765th anniversary on Saturday...

The complicating factor is that someone(been spitters so far) needs to ask Mr. Zazou and the dog if they're up for it, since it's 90 minutes before their usual opening time, which means safety/electrical/white whale/water checks and such needing done vurry early indeed, so plenty of notice and a good number of definite attendees would be the done thing.

Sorry folks I have been on holiday (well, child minding so not actually free time) and busy at work.
I'll email mr Z now but I'd say next week better as not so short notice...Posted 12 years ago # -
*bump*
I can certainly make this. Is it still on?
Posted 12 years ago # -
Friday ?
Yep, can do.
Posted 12 years ago # -
I'll pop round to Mr Z's tomorrow and ask how much notice he'd prefer. We might have missed the....deadline.
Posted 12 years ago # -
In which case, would PY be the default venue?
Posted 12 years ago # -
So... what did Mr Z say? :)
I noticed he had a sign on his boat/barge saying he was away at a wedding last weekend. I assume he's back?Posted 12 years ago # -
Ach. I fail. I forgot he only opens Thu-Sun, so when riding past and seeing it shut I concluded he was on holiday.
Let me see when the cafe on Ashley Terrace opens. It's by a zillion rails for parking and in the right neck of the woods.

Is this happening happening tomorrow? Hopefully will be able to grab a cawfee somewhere enroute. 's friday afteralls.
Posted 12 years ago # -
Yeh when exactly is this happening?
And Steptoe, when are you leaving Edinburgh? We'd like a send off coffee/beer.
Posted 12 years ago # -
I'm leaving (on a huge A380!) on June 3, start new job on June 11.
Def good for former/latter/both. Although possibly not at same time, that's just a *little* jakey.

If all those interested in a Zazou can reply by 4.50, I can run out and ask Mr Z. I was in there just now having a coffee and he's not expecting us.
If not, the Blueberry Hill cafe opens at 8am and is halfway down Ashley Terrace. I've never been in it, so can't vouch for quality or cost.
Posted 12 years ago # -
I can probably* go.
*kinderdependent.
Posted 12 years ago # -
Sorry can't make it, as I have to leave work early tomorrow so trying to be in at more like 8 than 9
Posted 12 years ago # -
I should have time tomorrow (in spite of missing the Zazou deadline)
Posted 12 years ago # -
So should me take a possibly literal rain check on tomorrow's coffee and try and reconvene some other day?
Posted 12 years ago # -
sorry folks - I didn't get a reply from him otherwise I would have made extra effort to get online (have been v. busy and away from my workplace doing first aid training with no computer and hence a backlog when I got back to work)
Next month maybePosted 12 years ago # -
Oh, I forgot to say in Spotted: saw Mrs Spitters and the Tigermoths in Zazou yesterday. He's been on 'oliday in Wales, which would explain the silence.
Stepdoh, I guess it's your call as to dates, since aside from...urm...I think there's something happening tomorrow in the Muddies(is it?)...aside from that, your departure is the next big thing on the CCE coffee calender.
