Better highlight: a lengthy observation of the Kew Gardens Rat. Frolicking in the afternoon sun (and stuffing itself on bird seed).

FWIW walrus used to be commonly seen in Europe. There were populations in Scandinavia: walrus ivory was used by vikings, and there are 18thc reports of walrus in the Thames.

@unhurt that's reassuring. Let the rewalrusing continue.

Woken up at half past three by drunk people going home and discovered that the mild weather has set the birds off properly: a lovely full dawn chorus going on outside.

I have a dunnock threesome visiting my garden every morning at the minute. Dunnocks have quite exciting personal lives.

@chdot NEXT year I'll say yes to compiling a CCE Almanac. It might not be suitable for all ages though.

@bill did you name them? Because those are quality names (and cute beasts).
Posted 6 years ago # -
@unhurt Thank you :D yes, i named them.
Last year my colleague John got jealous that my commute was sometimes faster than his train one, so got a bike and cycled that route a few times as well. He became fond of the white donkey and claimed him as his. So I named the donkey Johnkey. And since one was 'junkie' the other one became Drunkey.
Later in the year the donkeys were moved further away, so I was very pleased to see them back in the old paddock this morning.

Drunkey appears to be eating the wall?
The Fall had a song about 40 years ago called No Christmas for John Keys

Drunkey has a hybrid Paul Weller/Beatles mop-top thang going on. Kudos.

@gembo Perhaps. I shall take some carrots tomorrow.
@IWRATS So who do THESE handsome fellows remind you of?
