@IWRATS Drunkey had definitely less going on his head a year ago

CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

@IWRATS the ponies answer we were looking for was Limahl. Sorry
Johnkey for @unhurt

This is a good series of posts.

Well, keep looking. No one has yet devised the question to which IWRATS answers 'Limahl'.
The ponies don't appear too shy?
When Limahl was asked on swap shop why he was called Limahl he said his real name was Mark Hamill and Limahl is Hamill backwards. (It isn't)
Though Bill Harriman is an anagram of Brian R Hamill (spooky)
@gembo almost! bill's (almost)full name is Bill J Harriman, so perhaps Brian Jr. Hamill?
@unhurt I stopped to feed the donkeys with carrots this morning. Turns out that Drunkey is the bossy one. He pushed Johnkey away. Photo for you.

In close-up looks like Drunkey's head is thatched.

Kajagoogoo's Hit was Too Shy
My colleague Yves' mum bought three donkeys Daisy, Butter Cup and Alf. My collegue overheard her once describing them as the children she never had (she has three daughters)
Drunkey is wearing the best cycle helmet ever.
Cormorant at the bottom of the street today and yesterday first Coltsfoot flower, two weeks later than last year.
“two weeks later than last year”
So Climate Change is #fakenews(?)!
Startled a deer riding home past the Slateford allotments on the WoL path last night. She bounced across the river to get away.
Gorse has begun flowering under the snow in Balerno.
The swan nests in the lagoon at the dawn of the spring equinox.
Female sparrowhawk scouting the rooftops of Fleshmarket Close for unwary pigeons.
Saw two dead deer on Tuesday.
One dead on the road outside Blairgowrie, had to swerve to avoid it. Another just north of Spittal of Glenshee. This second was in process of having its antlers sawn off by two guys at the roadside......
Imagine the rotten souls of the people who did this.

Excellent spot. I've not seen one of those since the Black Isle in 2006. Did you see any other lesser spotted audaxers on the ride?
I need to learn how to tell different birds of prey apart. To me, everything is either a kestrel or a buzzard, so I wouldn't have a clue if I saw a red kite or a sparrowhawk.
Plenty of Audax royalty. DrAfternoon early on. Was only riding solo for about 60 km
@Frenchy I'm not great at telling them apart either but we watched red kites for a week on the Balck Isle on holiday. Sparrowhawk - like a kestrel but chasing sparrows through trees and hedges instead of hovering.
Red kites pretty big with a fan tail and will soar quite high

I would be delighted to lead a CCE raptor tutorial. The trick with sparrowhawks is to learn to see them at all. Once you start you can't stop.
Red kites in Tweedsmuir....if they can get past the ring of guns it would be a joy to see them in town. Aylesbury is thronged with them.
A big fat wasp just flew in the French windows. First of the year.
It's the clock change. Probably.

CCE outing? I think this one would need to be over at least two days.
We could just send one of Audaxers out with a bag of chicken bones to lure the kites in?
Was actually calculating a route that would give a chance of seeing all of white-tailed and golden eagles, buzzard, kite, osprey, kestrel, sparrowhawk, peregrine, merlin and hen harrier. I think you'd need a week.
Nine deer in one spot on the way to North Berwick. Some alpacas on the way back, but they're probably not wild. Lots of lambs as well.
