I endorse crowriver's plan, if only because my alarm buzzes me at 5.30 most mornings anyway so it's less of an insult to the system to make that 4.30.
Nelly, if you're good at yoga, then you could curl up in a ball on the trailer?
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

Shall we try and make this thing happen this summer?
we should
I'm up for it.
I couldn't possibly comment whilst on a publicly available forum. But it would be fun.
Friday 21 June is midsummer and obviously a nice bright early morning.
It WILL be sunny and warm!
And I fancy a fry-up on the Trangia!
Reminds me of the time I tried the Glorious Glencoe Glide - which is vastly easier, as there are no traffic signals down the glen, but it's still a blast.
East wind, lunch in the Kingshouse, and a recumbent. And a walkman which will annoy folk, but it worked for me.
Has anyone ever done this?
Has this ever happened??
It's a great idea until you think about the traffic lights. That and the speed you would have to take the left turn onto North Bridge. But essentially I think it would work quite easily. It is all down hill.
Actually I don't think it would need 'continuous green lights' and max speed.
If lights are at red slow down enough to keep rolling when they are green.
Crucial one is North Bridge/Leith Street.
I don't think it would be possible to get as far as the foot of the walk, let alone the docks. It's hardly downhill at all by the bottom.
Easy way to find out....
The way I was planning misses out those two sheer drops.
I agree with Dave. I'm convinced, even with obliging traffic lights, that you wouldn't get much past the foot of Leith Walk.
We'll have to see what the new road surface & junction at the foot of the walk reveals.
Bump.
You'd have to go though the Kirkgate and wriggle left or right, Constitution Street being off limits. Real shame that, it's a goer otherwise.
