  1. Smudge, as above, having completely forgotten it was the day of the ToEL (and forgetting I'd seen an email from him that morning about the CCE jerseys).

Was a lovely lovely day for a run out. Only 13 odd miles out and back, but really pleasant. And wildlife galore.

Ooh, that reminds me I never did get back to you WC. Will PM tomorrow when I've had a good sleep and my head is clear(er).

@WC, I thought it would be tactless to perhaps distract from the holiday vibe by discussing "business", I'd been depressing enough listing my mechanical woes! ;-)

Glad you both had a good run :-)

  4. Will be chasing pu the kit suppliers tonight, and hopefully have some feedback on the exact anticipated landing date for the first round! Really orders can be taken anytime, since they now have the designs stored...

Not me, didn't go home that way. Think you must keep spotting my double?

I rode for a while on the Broomhouse Path this morning behind a chap wearing just a linen shirt (sleeves rolled up) on his upper half. Brrrrrr!

Spotted: about a hundred riders in the Borders (nowhere near ToEL) in their ones, twos and threes... what excellent weather!

Excellent - I am stoked to get my shocking pink short sleeves on after this weekend's excellent riding.

I saw a guy ycling along the canal at Harrison park with sandals on - no socks. Brr indeed.

Laidback? Recumbenting up George IV Bridge about fiveish ish? I was the guy on the white MTB with the offensively bright strobe on the front (having lost my temper with selfish jackasses in cars "pretending" not to see me, idiots, I can tell the difference!!)

Guilty - you were going other way? Shortly afterwards a Green Flag truck tried to overtake me at Hotel de Vin...

Spotted a recumbent on Gilmore place about 6ish today? Surely that must have been one of you guys!

@Laidback, I was, I think I was just a bit past Greyfrairs Bobby when I spotted you :-)

@Pompino, was it a small black recumbent with a rider clad in pink and black? I was in the area about that time.

@Arellcat, I honestly can't remember! Was too busy punishing myself with speed for locking myself out of both my work and flat in the space of 10 minutes.

I'll shout or wave next time.

Riffian on the North Edinburgh Path Network near Morrisons yesterday. I forgot to post and was reminded on the way in.

Also bumped into thebikechain at the top of Broughton Street. Had a nice wee catch up and went on our respective ways.

  20. Amir, on Duddingston Road West this morning (though I was disguised as a pedestrian), those rear lights are fantastic!

Then wingpig on Melville Drive, performing a textbook 'overtake someone then move back into the cycle lane before going into the back of a car all the while being perfectly aware of your surroundings and giving everyone plenty of space' move. I was still in the same disguise.

going into the back of a car

I'm imagining a kind of bicycle based Knight Rider where wingpig seamlessly rides on to a ramp and into a moving high backed 4x4.

Im imagining a over-the-handlebars youtube clip.

  23. ruggtomcat may be imagining something which may have happened to a cyclist before on Melville Drive and an accompanying YouTube clip. Don't ask how I know this...

"...a textbook 'overtake someone then move back into the cycle lane before going into the back of a car all the while being perfectly aware of your surroundings and giving everyone plenty of space' move."

That's an obscure but thorough textbook. The 'someone' being the bicyclist or one of the two cars turning left up Marchmont Road? I was mostly going that way to see what the Argyle Place fallout looks like from the POV of the road, having not been near it since the Monday it started when I passed through before the blue string was applied to the cones. Pleased to note that the car in front of me mostly anticipated the need for the cyclist in front of me to move out of the cycle lane to get past the cones and string.

Well spotted. The lights are to blind those cyclists that I pass by too closely just to finish the job off (confession at http://citycyclingedinburgh.info/bbpress/topic.php?id=7059&page=8)

My glove, noncycling, propped on the fence in Harrison Park where it has been since yesterday lunchtime, after a successful pocket escape. Thanks, honest Harrison Parkers. I am quite fond of those gloves.

  28. Last night a GreaseMonkeyCycles motor vehicle (Cirtoen C1? I know Toyota and I think Peugeot have the same motor with different body so always get mixe dup on those) with two bikes atop and one on a tow bar mount, proving you don't need a monstrous vehicle to move bikes about - good work.

Plus, held back as the temporary lights on Melville Drive changed to green while I was filtering in the cycle lane and let me in front. Best way to advertise to cyclists!

Three wheel recumbent trike heading under the Red Bridge on the NEPN sporting a rather nifty white rear arial with a long strip of red LEDs on it. Anyone who who it is? Looks fun.

Back-spotted Mr BikeChain this morning but even on reviewing the video footage I can't see Mr Wilmington on Melville Drive yesterday.
