Big John on the canal towpath passing Harrison Park this morning, which is a first for me on a weekend. Apparently he does his usual midweek walk on some Saturday mornings.

Mini-Greenroofer and I were out on the WoL Path this morning and, as is becoming something of a habit, passed @BikeFan near Juniper Green.
We also got mixed up with the UK Police Unity Tour of Scotland which was about a dozen riders of mixed ability heading West on the towpath. A couple of them pushed past us when there was really no need and no space in front to move in to (and may then have been a bit disappointed to find the 10 year old they overtook with much fanfare remained resolutely on their tail until we turned off the towpath).

Two sizable, yellow 'works' trucks parked at the end of NMW this morning, one on each of the two spurs, almost completely blocking access. As I passed, a JCB was also trying to gain access to the area, its driver seemingly thinking that the toucan crossing was the best approach.

gembo, who I semi-successfully high-fived this morning on the towpath - I fear that I might not have spotted him (given a lack of practice while he was on holiday) had it not been for him raising his hand invitingly...
I also spotted and chatted to a fellow commuter in the Tarvit Street ASZ - he cycles in my direction along the towpath, but rather faster. We discussed the merits of the Whyte 729, which he was riding and is my current N.

Laidback with stoker on Quetzal recumbent tandem near Rosyth docks at lunchtime.

Yes... doing bridge route inspection and Wynd Cafe visit plus West Fife Cycleway and Culross loop. Sustrans route fairly blitzed but did better on way back. Told her about your other bike!

Dave on a recumbent seemingly drafting someone on an upright across the wee red bridge?

Nice friendly bearded chap on a hybrid with slicks, at the lights at palmerston place, with a wee helmet camera - we chatted about how good it was - IT was the tiny wee box one that's about matchbox size and lies flat - Mobius v1 I think? Can't remember what he said it was called.
Said that a few times "people had seen the camera and behaved" Or at least he thought it was because of the camera.

My kids' school has one of those, but they positioned it at the far end of the car park furthest away from the school, so it doesn't get used and everyone crams onto 3 hoops nearer the school.
Also, Stickman & I shared a wave on St John's Road this morning.

Very wise, this will stop it getting wasted

Aye, no danger of it getting scratched where they put it, so it will continue to look great for many years to come.

"Also, Stickman & I shared a wave on St John's Road this morning."
My first time being spotted! There is something pleasing about it - nice to be part of a community.

@stickman yes the towpath is a community for sure, many regulars from here - snowy, chrisfl, jdanielp. Many regulars from out with our CCE community - big GED from ebc, big GED lookalike, kaputnik lookalike, Hoover man (now has his panniers on the back) etc and of course Big John

On the way home last night on the NEPN just east of Ainslie Park, I half spotted an animal of uncertain heritage (very large cat / smallish dog or fox) as it dashed out of the bushes and ran under my back wheel :-(
Once I'd got up and pulled myself together, the mysterious beast was long gone. Couldn't see it anywhere. If it was a dog - as I thought at first - there was no owner around.
Big thanks to the guy (heading west) who stopped and helped me patch the bike up well enough to limp home.
Feel a bit bad for whatever it was I hit as it would have got a pretty hefty thump. I thought afterwards (once I was back from Minor Injuries), should I be reporting said potentially injured animal to anyone?
(Hi, btw. I'm new here)

A man with a strimmer slung over the handlebars of his bicycle coming down MMW last night - the strimming end was pointing forwards, reminiscent of a jousting lance.
A small, white, fluffy dog that looked like it was under control, only to wander right in front of me at the last moment on the towpath at Harrison park this morning. The owner did at least apologise to me. Shortly afterwards I saw gembo, with whom I exchanged a slow-motion high-five.

@kev, sorry to hear of your tumble. Reminiscent of the dug that took out Sandy Cassar on the tour a few years back.
I doubt you need report the incident and I guess the beast will be fine [that is my POV]
@jdanielp - had earlier very rough hi five off big Ged from EBC from his big right hand so went for the slo mo with your good self.

@gembo - Thanks for the good wishes and advice. Have to admit that my post-fall cycling wasn't quite as rapid or glorious as Casar's!

Apparently there's a CG rack at Fettes.
They cut out half a dozen Sheffield racks to make room for it!

I wonder if FIMM and BOF cycled passed me at 8a.m. This morning on the Lang whang at the junction of bridge road down into balerno proper and the A70?

HankChief on Corstorphine Road.
Wingpig* joining the gaggle of cyclists going into Torphichen St.
*thought I recognised you from the PoP pictures; confirmed by your post in the "More of us" thread.

Aha. (I hung back a car or two too as the ASZ already looked packed.) No camera today, so I can't check it to see who you are for future reference.

I thought I made last minute spot of DaveC this morning when a recumbent appeared while I was dodging the Braepark potholes. After a possibly over familiar hello I realise it wasn't.
If it was someone else here I apologise if I startled you.
I did have a very pleasant ride in after getting chatting to another Edinburgh to Dunfermline commuter for most of the route. He's only an occasional cycle commuter but as we commented we could be 100 yards apart every morning and still not see each other for months.
