pair of black gloves near melville Drive end of NMW this morning
(maybe we need a new 'missing/lost' thread?)
CityCyclingEdinburgh was launched on the 27th of October 2009 as "an experiment".
IT’S TRUE!
CCE is 15years old!
Well done to ALL posters
It soon became useful and entertaining. There are regular posters, people who add useful info occasionally and plenty more who drop by to watch. That's fine. If you want to add news/comments it's easy to register and become a member.
RULES No personal insults. No swearing.

also spotted - Tanzanian President Magafuli on a bike

The distinctive moustache bars of kaputnik, making up 16.66667% of the hourly bike traffic on Haymarket Terrace this evening.
Spotted Morningsider and miniMorningsider en velo this evening in (wait for it) Morningside.
Arellcat in the torpedo this morning, though from 20 metres out it looked like ominous glowing orb. I was in disguise as sopping wet pedestrian.
Smudge, Bromptoning along Dalry Road with a very bright front light about 6:50 am this morning.
Possibly Councillor Andrew Burns getting into Dalry swimming pool just as I was getting out of it... does he swim?
Unicyclist on NMW about 8.55am
Today, we are all swimming.
Yup was nice to have a greeting this morning :-) hope you didn't get too wet in the smart overcoat!
Light is a lumotec IQ powered by a Shimano dynohub, I ordered the light and a dynamo rear light from Germany, thoroughly recommended! I trust it wasn't dazzling. :-)
@Smudge see my comment about inappropriate clothing in the "severe weather" thread... your light is not dazzling, but it is unusually low to the ground - to start with I wondered if it was a recumbent coming the other way.
Unusual is good when combined with visible ;-) it's good enough to ride with on unlit paths and roads which seems an unusual combination with non dazzling :-)
Even "proper" waterproofs were a bit damp round the edges this morning, at least you had a tailwind that direction ;-)
"does he swim?"
Apparently he's a regular.
must be looking at a triathlon as he runs too

Am I a UFO* perhaps? (suddenly interested) Mind you, the weather this morning was certainly amusing. Even though I had deployed the roof and the spraydeck my ears were full of sideways rain.
* Flying at an altitude of ground level.
Wingpig preparing to turn onto MMW at Argyle Place. Dressed lightly but probably enough for the warm conditions between gales.
Saw rather a fabulous tandem on the Restalrig path the other day. Rear seemed to have had modified chainset with extra cog up high that allowed the stoker to pedal despite only being a small-ish boy.
I've just re-read that and it doesn't really make sense. I know what I mean, anyway.
Edit: something like this:
Makes sense.

between the light and the weird rumble your vehicle generates you'd definitely qualify for extra in 70's BBC sci-fi.
I did shout a "cheery" good morning but figured you'd probably not hear with the wind and rain. In fairness I barely heard myself say it.

We were on a litterpick, saw this too, looked pretty good.
Spotted a squadron of Urban Arrows late this afternoon northbound on MMW. I waved to Kim (I think) and LB. I was busy terrorising people in my UFO.
Anthington's Wilm spotted me as he crossed the London Road/Easter Road Junction.
Bike with a child seat over the front wheel somehow? I was jealous of the rain cover in this mornings downpour. Near cannonmills.
@Erob there's a few versions of such a seat, we have the Yepp Mini which clamps to the steerer tube.
Fairly small child cycling on the pavement at Haymarket. Her bike had wheels the same size as those on my Brompton, I thought. It also had lights. Couldn't work out if there was an adult (on foot) with her. Normally I'd rant about pavement cycling there, but there's no way a person that size should be doing battle with traffic, tram tracks and jug handles...
Roibeard waiting outside Evans for it to open, we exchanged cheery haloos
Wingpig and kaputnik within a minute of each other on Roseburn Terrace, possibly both performing the same recce of howling outrage as me.
Saw kaputnik. Still have no idea what Stickman looks like.
Still operating incognito.
I was on foot, attempting to prove the theory that it is possible to reach Roseburn Terrace without motorised assistance.
Stickman- pencil thin with a bit of a bigger head?
Or kind of wooden with a Julia Donaldson look about him?
Tending to the former rather than the latter....
