On the prom today... Thule carriers cost a fair amount but do give you lots of options I've heard. Pic from tandem with Mrs LBs first run of the year. (No expense spared on Valentine's Day!)

    @Laidback - I think Thule bought Chariot - that's identical to a Chariot trailer...

Saw a chap during my ride into work this morning and by coincidence on my way home tonight, riding what looked like a mountain bike unicycle with disc brakes at Queensferry St. Looked superb! Anyone on here?

@Dave making good progress westwards into the teeth of the wind and rain on the towpath this evening.

We passed at Craiglockhart. I was wearing a fluorescent yellow beanie*. I haven't passed Dave on the canal for some time (years?) so wasn't alert enough to make a greeting before we were past each other.

*Very warm and very yellow. I was tempted by this too, which has reflective piping on the back, but resisted...

Continuous spot of a stokerless SRD, from about Polwarth Grove all the way to the Kings Theatre junction. I stayed behind in case the magic deflector shield of a torpedo was helpful, but when we met the temporary lights on Gilmore Place SRD comprehensively outfiltered me, and I missed the green at the Kings. SRD last seen disappearing along the eastern side of NMW.

Superb back light by the way, SRD!

Ha! Wondered if I would be spotted today as I rode about 10x further than normal - only to be spotted on my usual route....

Wish I'd reverse spotted. Guess you saw me take to the pavement (on foot of course). Was feeling a bit fed up with the dark Ford with bad muffler that kept overtaking aggressively.

@earthowned at the same spot as algo spotted us this morning

(The timing on that toucan seems dodgy; have queried cycling officers about it)

Thought for a moment that I spotted SRD walking along the canal tow path this evening, a bit west of the Leamington bridge. I pinged my bell before I passed slowly, and received a thank-you of a quite SRDian accent.

Recumbent trike heading west along the towpath near Meggetland at about 6pm. How do you cross the Slateford aqueduct on a trike?

@Greenroofer not sure, but I can confirm that they did make it since I spotted the same bike near the Cultins Road turn off around half six. I believe that the rider had dismounted to attach something to the signpost (PoP poster?) but I didn't have time to stop so will investigate tomorrow.

A lovely woman who has 3 young children spotted me on my Circe Helios tandem asked me about the bike. I told her about Laid Back bikes, and this forum, and then rushed off to the dentist. Afterwards I wished I'd just offered to let her try out my bike.

Stopped next to a very stylish black single speed on-one pompetamine with hub dynamo this morning - I'm experiencing quite a bit of bike envy at the moment...

I saw a recumbent heading up middle meadow walk just as I was about to cross it on north meadow walk this morning, around 8.30'ish. I think that's actually the first time I've seen one being ridden in "real life" :P

Might have been me, Neil. Small purple recumbent with a pannier on the back?

Celeb spot: John Sergeant (I think) on Middle Meadow Walk yesterday afternoon, with camera crew. He was in cycling gear I think.

Also had a nice chat with a man on a Moulton on the Innocent path. Hello if you are on here.

Whoosh. The sound of a big guy on a mountain bike passing me at speed going up Gilmerton Road. I was doing about 15 mph uphill but he must have been doing 20 to 25 mph and left me for dust, with seemingly little effort. I was pleased to see a potential battery pack on the rack but aren't electrically assisted bikes speed limited to 15 mph?

I think it was Steveo, in the Gilmerton Road, with the limiter bypasser. *puts down Cluedo deck*

In other spot news: Arellcat on my/our usual Comiston Road slog. Thursday, I think. Might have been Wednesday. You were recumbed. NB: might not have been you, but you're the only recumbenaut I've seen on that road at all, let alone turning at your junction.

In other other spot news: I now have two fellow fixie types that I regurlarly share grim nods with. There is also a third, but just glares like he's offended by the existence of moi, so he doesn't get so much as a radian of upper spinal inclination.

@amir, I have had a shot on an electric bike that went at 25mph. On the flat, for sure but still zipping along. Good fun.

It did look fun. But I felt quite dismal until I saw the battery

    Waverley ramp.

Presume this refers to the 2 way cycle lane, can't remember seeing it anywhere else(?)

"a mountain bike passing me at speed going up Gilmerton Road."

What time was this? I'll put on my tweeds and go out to shout at him in an intemperate fashion about the law and furious riding.
