Did I pass ARobComp on the towpath this morning? I was on the wrong side of the path making a move that I was aware at the time could land me in the rubbish cycling thread when a bike came off the WoL path down the stony ramp and reacted with some style and aplomb to my incompetent towpath positioning.

We were past each other in a flash, but I thought I caught a hint of recognition.

    ...or maybe I'm completely mistaken.

Skotl both morning and evening with a lot less beard than last week.

Also Baldycyclist heading over the bridge. Good to see you are getting some time to ride.

The unmistakable caravan that is @Hankchief on the A8 cycle path. I was waiting for a tram in the rain with a folded Brompton.

Bah. I'll have to concede that tram travel has the advantage of being able to register your 'spot' whilst mid journey, whereas cycling you have to wait until you arrive.

    @HC there is that.

I was on my way to a post-work drink in town, hence the Brompton and tram. As I came out of All Bar One, two American visitors said 'Gee that's a small bike. Can we watch you unfold it?' and were suitably impressed when I did so. A little later I had folded it (complete with bag on the front) to go into the Comiston Fry for my tea. As I came out of there a young lad on a bike watched me unfold it and uttered the clichéd words 'Cool bike mister!'

I do like my Brompton :-)

Bloke with two weans in front cargo turning right from Russell Road into McLeod Street.

Weans were under clear plastic hood on front cargo, which makes them look like they're in a greenhouse, and should grow twice as fast.

Did I pass @Dave on the towpath this evening? He was towards the back of a long queue of bikes near Craiglockhart, and seemed to be on a surprisingly normal-looking bike from the brief glimpse I got.

Pretty sure I spotted and was spotted by paddyirish on the bridge tonight although I would still struggle to pick you out in an identity parade.

@acsimpson - yep pretty sure it was you- lid on this time?

It's pretty random what I wear and which bike I'm on (blue Hybrid or white cross bike) so I'm not as easy to spot as you are...

I was just behind the guy in the La Vie Claire jersey (80s team of Lemond/Hinault fame)

Arellcat, going feet first up Gardiner's Crescent. Would have shouted hello but there was a BMW behind and didn't want to distract her.

Signs appear to be cheaper than infrastructure in France as well.

Is it just me or is the cyclist shrugging?

Taking the canal westwards this morning I was spotted by Gembo and then (I think) Spytfyre.

Was in a world of my own hence my slow uptake!

Arellcat not on bent or brommie but still easy to spot. Likewise just there Greenroofer without his cap. What is happening? Nice new crew cut though, perhaps had just been to barbers and wanted to avoid hairs in his cap?

@Acsimpsom on Maybury Road with his set up resplendent with flag(s).

The 2nd (& last) of my rear flags had just been snapped by a low tree and I was feeling the poor relation in comparison.

@gembo I was pushing on a bit and the cap was causing me to overheat so was in the pannier along with the proceeds of a trip to Decathlon. You appeared to be in a very cyclechic suit and looking very relaxed given that you must have come up the big hill.

@greenroofer, decathlon then out canal to Currie and back in?

I had broken journey by going to a school that has newly reopened this week in the firrhill area this afternoon then at approx 18.00hrs home by rolling down through colinton. Hence the relaxed attitude, plus south easterly wind I think.

Chinos and shirt for sure but no suit jacket

@gembo - more or less: canal to Gogar Station Road, thence Heriot Watt, Long Dalmahoy, Ravelrig hill, then home. Not exactly a direct route, but an opportunity to put my HRM into Zone 4. The wind that allowed you to ride in elegant chinos was a headwind for me that sapped all the usual enjoyment out of the run from Balerno to Colinton.

@hankchief. I spotted your yellow ortleibs a long time before I concluded it was you approaching. I should have realised that they were so noticeable as there are more than 2. No passengers for either of us though which certainly delayed me positively identifying you.

An Urban Arrow parked across from the Water of Leith Bistro at lunchtime today. I said hello to the owner (and his very small person) in the cafe in order to comment admiringly on the UA. Possibly on here?

Me riding an ancient garage bike that I reckon has not been ridden in about 15 years. All I needed to do was pump up the tyres and off I went. Hub gears obviously. They really don't make 'em like they used to. :-)

"They really don't make 'em like they used to"

Well they do - just that they are retro styled and 3 times the price (with better brakes though).

There is a very skinny Peugeot abandoned in work bike parking, not moved since pop5. Curiously the shifters have been converted from down tube to brakes. There is a spanking new Croix de fer with very clean chain. Appears to have been transported from purchase site to rack and left unused. It is locked though.
