2 rear axle biased tricycles on my way to work this morning. 1 reclined tackling the slalom course on Leith Links and one upright on the NEPN near Tesco, seemingly part of a learner group.

Spotted the Family Weezee heading east onto Braid Hills Road. The Urban Arrow fairly accelerates!
I was in disguise on the big, tall motorbike.

Eddie1H (sp) and family walking down MMW. We were eating pineapple on a wall.
Then Algo and family in the swingpark.
Nobody was on bikes or in lycra.

A brief conversation with DaisyDaisy on the Glasgow Skyride.
We both agree at how lovely it was to be cycling with our kids on a city centre and not having to worry about them.
Sadly our offspring were on different pacing strategies so it was only a brief chat

Hi @hankchief, nice to see you. It's so easy, even for a wee one who's just learned to cycle to get across Glasgow by bike if there aren't cars. We saw Chris Hoy speak before the cycle, and I was quite impressed. Glad he signed the letter asking for everyday cycling to be properly funded.

As I spotted gembo's enthusiastic preparations for a high five on the towpath earlier I was filled with a mixture of amusement and fear (for the potential impact, which can be surprisingly sore) and completely failed to react.

Someone who I suspect is piosad spotted me this morning, as I wrestled with tandem chains (why do they always seem to come off in tandem?) along NMW. he kindly offered to help, but I figured one of us with greasy hands was enough.

A guy struggling to get his chain back on at Good's Corner. Put it on for him and directed him to the Bike Station to get a replacement twist-grip shifter etc etc for his shonky steed.
Turns out he's an Egyptian TV journalist taking refuge from his charming government in our country.

Green MSP Alison Johnstone cycling on the canal towpath a few times recently - today was the first such occasion I was convinced enough that it was her to attempt to smile, but there was no reaction. She obviously doesn't remember me wishing her well on the eve of the Holyrood election.

Sad but almost certainly true!
It's her commute route.
It's to her (and other 'public figures') credit that she/they do cycle as a normal activity.
Shame all politicians don't!

Indeed, although she could have smiled back anyway! I'll continue my efforts if I keep spotting her. Given that's her regular commute, then I'm surprised that I have only spotted her recently; maybe she has changed her schedule.

I tried something similar with Sheila Gilmore once, when we were both stopped on Argyle Place heaidng towards MMW. She was unimpressed/uninterested.

I've always regretted not cheerily bellowing "WHY HAVEN'T THEY FIXED THIS SURFACE YET?!" at Andrew Burns as our paths inevitably crossed every morning at the Kings Theatre / Gilmore Place junction.
Of course I already knew the answer, but I do expect that my local politicians would at least have the decency to direct council resources to ensure that their own commutes are smooth and free from potholes and crumbling tarmac. If it's good enough for the Pope!

I'd never try to judge someone for not smiling back at a stranger while at speed on a commute.

I have found the Scottish Green MSPs not to be at all affable. I don't know why. They're very serious and don't want to come over as smarmy baby kissers, which is fair enough, but there's limits to that tack. Smiling and greeting randoms is, I believe, quite a good idea for a elected representatives.

Andy Wightman is a very serious man. I'm not sure it's possible to be otherwise if you've read and understood that many title deeds...
It's nice to have some serious politicians dealing with serious issues. There's enough affable, chumly lightweights in the Tories to go around.

Me neither. In fact I very deliberately do not look at other cyclists on the towpath as it is so very narrow and I feel if I look at them I will ride into them.
