Drop barred bike parked at the entrance to Blackford Pond that had its front forks on backwards! No owner around and I didn't have pen and paper to leave a note, but I can't imagine that is safe.

Three T/terns on the towpath this morning. I was heading out of town on my Tern HSD to Hermiston Gait* and slowed to give way to the distinctive shape of a Tern coming the other way (which I realised after I'd said "Nice bike!" was being piloted at pace by @Dave).

There's something here about one good Tern deserving another...

Unfortunately a little later I saw a dead bird floating on its back which looked like a tern (but probably wasn't).

*Where I picked up an online order of a cycle cape and waterproof spats from Decathlon (whose utility cycling gear is good if you buy it online, but whose stock of actual cycling gear in the store is shrinking and disappointing) and three bags of compost from B&Q (which is honestly a little bit too much for my Tern HSD, and reminded my why I regret not getting a GSD).

@greenroofer - excellent ride Report, if I see you in that cape I will take measurements to see if it will work for my mum in her wee wheelchair this winter.

I think whatever bike you get there is a temptation for something bigger! The twins do not like riding pillion any more and I have to lower the saddle and ride on my arches to prevent my heels bashing into them. An extra 12" on the back of the bike would be amazing... a GSD XL

So Mini-Greenroofer (now 19 and a student at Aberdeen) is still happy to ride on the back of the HSD if it means free trips back from late night parties. She also still fits into the 'big kid' weight/height requirements.

However 'Micro'-Greenroofer, despite being four years younger than his sister, is now over 6ft tall and is pleased that he is now too big to be able to go on the back...
