That would explain why I saw @neddie and A.N.Other walking along Forrest Rd on Tuesday (it's my in-office day and our new offices are up the lane next to Sandy Bell's which I have a tenuous family link to with it being owned by my great Uncle many years ago https://sandybells.com/history/ )

@bill heading uphill on the way home on her commute as I was heading downhill on the way home at the start of my commute, meeting at the towpath access ramp on Hermiston House Road Bridge. We had a nice chat and cycled together as far as Bridge 8 Hub where Iza diverted off the canal.

I hadn't actually experienced the maximum Quickening, due to having turned round at the lane just before the top of the hill because I reckoned that was halfway through the ride in time terms. As ever, the headwind I'd fought up the hill seemed much less impressive as a tailwind. Being just a week into my retirement, I am still getting a little jolt of guilty pleasure each time I go for a ride during 'normal working hours'.

Ha, I was holding the gate tonight for a chap at the soon to return Clubbiedeans big puddle , he had come from the Bonaly direction into a block headwind he seemed to hold me responsible for because it was a tailie for me. All humans should approach The CBP from Balerno side if they wish to avoid a block headwind.

@MediumDave walking down the hill from Torduff Reservoir yesterday evening. I was toiling up said hill, concentrating on trying (unsuccessfully) to keep my heart rate down, so didn't notice them until the last minute.
My route then took me up the Exponential Hill, down to Flotterstone and back over the Pentlands via Castlelaw and the Ranges road. It turned into a Lovely Ride, but there was quite a bit of climbing...

The WoL path is nice I used it with two heavy panniers to return from Porty today.

Oh it was you! I did wonder, but it was slightly out of context as normally we meet on the towpath. I recall that we met at the confluence of several people, and that I was concentrating on all of them at once so wasn't paying a huge amount of attention to the specifics of the individuals I was navigating around.
A few minutes later I also saw @steveo.
I was heading back from a trip to Carnwath. When we passed, I'd retreated to the WoL path as I'd by then had half a dozen close passes and crazy overtakes, one of which got a yelp of fear out of me and several of which had caused oncoming drivers to slow down or hoot in exasperation at the idiot coming towards them, half in their lane and half too close to me.
The biscuit (or perhaps cookie) was taken by the white Transit driving in the mist with no lights on at all (so basically invisible), that came flying past me, causing the oncoming pickup to hit the brakes, and disappeared into the mist leaving a strong smell of weed in its wake.
Oh yes, and I continue to enjoy Schrodinger's Bridge on the WoL path. The Rangers clearly like to leave its 'open' and 'closed' states in superposition, rather than bite the bullet and collapse its wave function into one state or the other...

I think something 8n the air yesterday for sure. Though the driv8ng on the A70 last Saturday was also pretty bad.
A croney from the Commute, let’s call her The Bionic Woman (I first clocked her racing buses on the route into town but as with the rest of us she has reverted to the WoL Path) hit a dug for the first time in 26 years. She had slowed and missed the critter on a bend that is overgrown which we will tackle next Monday. However, being of a harem sacrum nature said mutt doubled back behind her and ran at her wheels. Dog was ok as was Bionic.
Yes the bridge has become slightly more closed this week as the rangers have tightened the chain between t(e two wee plastic fences. But still no diversion signs (would require man6 signs given the proposed diversion) and still everyone crossing though a bit trickier again (a certain member of this group took a Tern people carrier over the fence recently without even having to stop).
