@crowriver, that Abus Ugh bracket can't be fitted on the inside of the rack, can it?

I suppose it could, though the mounting points are quite chunky. The main issue is that the lock is held in place by wee bits of elastic. Would be fiddly and potentially messy to try and fasten them on the inside of the rack...

Apparently I'm in the minority in using a kryptonite D lock which I keep mounted on my frame. It's their mini lock which originally I thought I'd struggle to get round the frame and whatever I'm locking it to, but in reality, I've generally managed to attach it to almost anything with a bit of thought. But as for the lock and the mount, no problems at this end. Yes, it rattles a little when I'm riding, but not that much, and it's solidly held on the frame which I think is a better location than in my pannier bag.

I suspect it was this that I purchased, as I do have that cable as well somewhere:

We have a pair of these ABUS d-locks.
I've struggled to mount mine on the medium Tricross frame though, without it either sticking out or losing the bottle cage which I don't want to do. So it goes in my bag.

Thanks for all the comments folks. The Bike Chain didn't have Abus so I got the very similar looking Masterlock which has the little slidey cover for the lock and everything. It doesn't rattle when bungeed to my folder rack. I didn't even bother looking at the mount as it is apparently as rubbish as the others mentioned.

So far I am happy with it though some reviewers have had trouble getting them open after a few weeks. I am hoping that is just for the cheaper ones and not for my version!
