I'll try to put in an appearance too (9ish is more my time than 8ish!). Will I need spiky tyres for MMW?

MMW was perfectly dry this morning, no problem at all. On the other hand the path between MMW and PY was covered in ice.

May have to turn up on foot. I have my work christmas do tomorrow afternoon and I don't feel like cycling home afterwards....

Brrr,
couldwill be chilly riding down to the station today! :-o
See you chaps and chapesses in an hour or so though :-)Posted 11 years ago # -
Big rotating turnout today! Always an excellent spread of conversation: this morning, down our end of the table, was ice; cyclocross; dancing in panto and staying up till after 10pm (oh to be 6 again!); carrying kids on your feet; roundabout design that works abroad but is seen as 'whooooaaaaah!!!' in the UK; Leith Walk; and cool old chainrings.

It was nice to stop for coffee and bun. I could actually get away with staying a bit later than I did - I got to the office just after 9.
Uberuce and I seemed to mostly discuss people who use the canal path with insufficient lighting.Posted 11 years ago # -

The floor was fair teeming with Orts...
Nice to meet PY newcomer twinsparks, who, like Greenroofer has raised good kids and saved me the excruciating awkwardness of socialising with parents of unruly children who seem to have been placed on this earth to break your will..
Sally isn't rudely blanking Steveo; she's talking to(and obscuring) mini-SRD.

I got to work just before ten. Oops.
In my defence I did somewhat unusually also get to work before seven. PY was my coffee break. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.
I enjoyed myself; thanks all. It was good to meet more people and put more names to faces. And to have a cardamom bun.
Edit: I'm now the proud possessor of a first edition Spokes Edinburgh Cycle Map, too! (Thanks!)

Had a nice few cups of char and good chat.
Thanks to some helpful people who pointed out that 52/16 is NOT the 72 inch gear I thought I was pushing on my single speed. It turns out it's an 86 inch gear. This makes me feel significantly better that I was struggling up the mound the other week.Posted 11 years ago # -
Yes - have broken my PY Friday duck!
Nice to put some faces to names. Hope to make it to December's meet although it is the same day as the work Christmas Dinner at night so I may be sans bike!

As an interloper from Dumfries ... thanks for the warm welcome (and the amazing brownie from SRD). It's getting to the point where I know and recognise more cyclists in Edinburgh than Dumfries.

I had to leave PY for a meeting at riddells court and when I came out of the meeting the feugo had followed me there!
