Yep - it's now over 5 degrees - wind has dropped and snow is going. I'll be overdressed and overtyred (and overtired).

AM: Legwarmers, shoecovers, light sweater under windproof; fall off bike on snow and ice despite what I thought was riding gingerly.
PM: T-shirt, shorts, powered home like a bawss.

I finished at 10 to 7 so got the 7pm bus instead. Didn't fancy a headwind to Inverkeithing.

TBH if I had the choice I'd take the car tonight, but it's not available so compulsory exercise it is for me! Still, using the train it's only six miles.

Wind died down on my second return from work at 9pm

Anyone else get caught in the hail? I thought I'd avoided it, but put rain trews on because I thought bike would be wet. thank goodness i did. hail attacked as I went down MMW. waterproofs dripping, hailstones bouncing around, driven by the wind. unbelievably painful on the face. Thought someone was behind me ringing their bell to get by. turned out it was my bell pinging in the hail.
then a lull, and another squall as I went up leamington walk. The sides of the path were actually white.

It will not be like that on Sunday. It will not. It will NOT.
