If you're free on Sunday and fancy helping out at the Scottish Time Trial Champs, then Edinburgh Road Club still need a few helpers. Details here.
The "Tour of the Meldons" is a longstanding club time trial open to all levels of riders and this year is the Scottish Championship.
Duties are likely to involve either helping out in sign on / time keeping that sort of thing where you will assist someone else, or corner marshalling. The latter involves standing on a corner keeping an eye on traffic and approach riders, to slow the former for the latter so they have a clear junction. Alternatively to warn the rider of obstruction if the traffic refuses to stop.
It's a bit more active than a road race which is generally whoosh-whoosh-whoosh of the peloton then 20 minutes standing around waiting for the lap to come round again.
Instructions / briefing / equipment provided and you'll probably be paired with someone else.
I'm going anyway, and will be cycling out to Eddleston in the morning before the start so you'd be welcome to join me. If you've never been to the Meldons, worth it just for the cycle.
