I've been reading a discussion on the BBC website of the Unicef reports on child well-being - there was one covering 2001-02 and a new one has been published covering 2009-10.
There's an interesting diagram about half way down this page about the percentage of children at ages 11, 13 & 15 who are overweight. Unsurprisingly the US comes out worst (by what looks like 7 or 8 percentage points, too).
And at the top of the table? The Netherlands followed by Denmark. I wonder why that could be...?
It isn't quite as simply rosy as that, though. Both those countries have seen an increase between the two reports (though Denmark's is very small), while other countries (including the UK) have seen a fall.
