New bike shop

  1. Not sure about parking on those railings - the pavement is relatively narrow there.

Trying to find out if you need planning permission to install cycle racks on the pavement (where's Morningsider when you need him?). No joy yet. Interesting reading the planning requirements for new developments though, and the specifications for how cycle parking should be provided. Equally interesting to see how many new developments actually manage to comply...

soo, came out to do nursery run and had yet another flat. Must have been a slow one, so just got the track pump out, pumped it up again and crossed my fingers.

So the nursery run was the usual pleasant pootle along the paths with coxwean and the tyre stayed good. Hurrah, but I thought what could improve my day more than a new tube and a strong coffee and since I was in Stockbridge I popped up to Ronde.

Could get the coffee, but no tube as the pleasant person behind the till said that bit of the shop wasn't open yet as the staff member hadn't come in. But if I wouldn't mind waiting a wee while someone would be in. Grumped something about having to get to work and got on my way.

Nice looking place, but my only suggestion would be a wee pile of standard innertubes behind the till. That would push it into world o awesome.

On the parking front I just leaned my bike against the illicit fence. Didn't see it plus tot seat as being hugely attractive to thieves :)

stopped into Ronde between dropping off Tot then going shopping for my morning of food styling (pork belly vindaloo).

Really, really good coffee, friendly chat. Lots of nice kit up the back for the stretchy pant/overshoe fans. Strange combination with the fixie and townbikes about. Illicit fence parking still only option.

Would recommend dropping in though. :)

Funnily enough I heard that exact same sentence from the owners this morning :)

    From link above -

"i was somewhat reticent to mention for reasons of confidentiality, that at the time of my visit, grant and claire from condor cycles were there too, showing the full range of condor frames with a view to ronde becoming their sole scottish dealer. apparently, all went swimmingly, and the range of condor bikes and frames will soon be available. not one given to superlatives, what i saw at close quarters was on the right side of incredible. no more trekking to london for a quality steel or carbon frame."
