    No you are both quite right.

    I am but like what? An Irish zen monk raced Myra Hindley to the finish?

    And Chris Froome is in some way 'British'?

    Tao Geoghegan Hart is Scottish? Does he eat kale? Become maudlin and then suddenly aggressive when drunk? Sing about the mountains of Coll and Tiree? Secretly enjoy being cold and wet?

    I'm Scottish...

    Does (s)he eat kale?

    Sometimes
    Become maudlin and then suddenly aggressive when drunk?

    Definitely not.
    Sing about the mountains of Coll and Tiree?

    This is a reference I do not understand.
    Secretly enjoy being cold and wet?

    Oh, definitely.

    Do I pass?

    "While he was born in England, Geoghegan Hart has Scots-Irish ancestry and has expressed his desire to race for Scotland on numerous occasions.

    Tao’s father Tom Geoghan (sic) was born in Scotland and his grandmother still lives in Edinburgh."

    "Tao Geoghegan Hart was selected to represent Scotland for the last two Commonwealth Games, but was unable to find time in his race schedule to appear at either competition.

    The cyclist is now targeting the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022 and said last year it would “definitely” be in Scotland’s colours."

    So, pretty similar to Froome (if one disregards Froome racing for Kenya at the Commonwealths)...

    @fimm

    The mountains of Coll and Tiree are a Billy Connolly invention.

    @Murun

    I'd no idea the boy thought of himself as a porridge-muncher. All welcome in my eyes. We are all Jock Tamson's Rabbie Burns' bairns after all.

    Brailsford also on drugs. We are Grenadiers we win every stage by attacking cycling, we are no longer defensive , attack, attack, what larks

    Watched on Quest yesterday but neither Bradley nor Brian mentioned the Scottish connection.
    Chat was all on getting back to Hackney. Bradley was wearing a top with giant rose logo patch ('England 1925' branded).
    Tao was pushing the big gear all the way - was told to slow down! Jai was spinning too much so they say.
    Apparently the press in Australia have not picked up how well their riders have done.

    Vuelta highlights are next on viewing list.

    Does seem a bit silly for the Vuelta to have a rest day the day after the end of the Giro. They only started last Tuesday...

    vuelta would have started on the saturday not the following tuesday, with three cancelled prologue stages in the netherlands, so they are just sticking with the existing schedule for the remaining stages

    Great stage tonight. Possibly quieter the next couple of days but they are fairly battering along. Highlights past my bedtime from now on.

    Carlton's inability to pronounce Grmay is driving me nuts.

    Why don't they give them pronunciation guides?

    It's not 'Girmay' as the month. But Ghirmai as in MY.
