There will be a ride tomorrow. Of some sort.

Departing from the Laid Back emporium of dreams. Uberuce has promised to bring a variety of maps, whereas I shall bring a vast appetite for the cakes sold in the cafe next door.

I'll be there from midday-ish. If you want to join in let me know and we'll adjust timing to suit. Route can be flexible to the desires/capabilities of participants.

I'd imagine we'll go for the time-honoured formula of headwind->cafe->tailwind, and I intend to ride my fixie, so I'll lobby hard against silly amounts of hills, but let's see about getting a good few dozen miles in?

I'll be in lycra. Although that doesn't actually imply anything about the intended distance.

I recently tried that cycle-chic thing for a medium ride and was chafed to unpleasantness. Lycra too.

Tweed can chafe and if not addressed can turn into a nasty weal, which if not given salve can turn gangrenous. Looks good tho.

Going by recent threads you should be ok if the tweed is in the form of a skirt though..

I would have fancied joining you, but I'll be standing near Tollcross ScotMid in a drysuit, mask and fins.

I'm available for pointing and laughing from 10:30-15:00.

It's for the RNLI, so feel free to spin by on your route, take some photos and throw something into the lifeboat.

Oh, and sorry to disappoint, but I'm not going to attempt cycling in the outfit!

I would have loved this but sadly have a prior engagement. It's probably just as well as I am devoid of lycra and would have cut your potential distance dramatically. Enjoy the endorphins and sunshine and cakes!

Went to EBC to pay £7.50 for four clear patches and some strong glue from ortlieb, for patching tents. Supposedly will fix my panniers. I think not.

As was using the WoL Path I wore a tweed helmet instead of a foam one. My Gilbert o'sullivan bunnet felt good, had skip for rain/sun and went with my sturmey three speed.

WoL path improvements continuing. The very bumpy bits around juniper green being filled with red chuckies
