Peoples, just driven north and spotted a sign warning of helicopter works, it would appear that they(? ) are using a helicopter to do some work, but they are using the old road , and hence the cycle path, and its closed !! I think. I saw several cyclists standing next to closed signs and chatting with hi vis clad workers.Trucks, vans, and a helicopter all parked in the way !

    Beauly-Denny pylon work?

The closure would be OK if they gave you a lift across the closed bit in the helicopter. Otherwise it's a bit rubbish.

Of course, naturally there's absolutely no alternative route. This is Scotland, after all, and utilities companies have priority on cycle paths compared to cyclists.

The MCofS put some stuff out about the Beauly-Denny works a while back, I'll see if I can find it later.

The MCofS information is in the "Scottish Mountaineer" archive here. Unsurprisingly it is about access to the hills rather than the cycle path! However there's a link in the article... http://www.se.com/BeaulyDenny
